In hiding

I like these lads

Sultans of swing
Twisting by the pool
Your latest trick
Romeo and Juliet too

Tony Baloney

Mark not much of a singer but sure can play a mean guitar.

Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing must be among the most recognisable song openings.
Brothers in Arms

thewobbler

Dire Straits.

Their catalogue goes something like this. Three of the greatest rocks songs ever penned, a few country rock style crowd pleasers, and a litany of songs that transcend genres of music in a largely  inoffensive and unmemorable way

But what a big 3. Wow.

Brothers in Arms.
Sultans of Swing.
Romeo and Juliet.

armaghniac

Much good with Dire Straits

Brothers in Arms.
Sultans of Swing.
Money for nothing
MAGA Make Armagh Great Again

Windmill abu

Never underestimate the power of complaining

Tunnel of Love
Sultans of Swing
The exact same.
I'd add Down to the Waterline if I was allowed.

They were the first band I ever saw live Naas in 1983
2007  2008 & 2009 Fantasy Golf Winner
(A legitimately held title unlike Dinny's)

gallsman

Ronnie

quit yo jibbajabba

Always said they should've joined forces with Chris Rea. Guess that'll never happen now

I'll get me coat 😔🥴

Shamrock Shore

Sultans of Swing
Private Investigations
Lady Writer

Substandard

Tunnel of love
So far away
Brothers in arms.
Honorable mention to Walk of life.
Might be a bit cheesy, but just such a feel good tune.  Loved the video as a kid, we used to nearly half kill ourselves in primary school trying to recreate the collisions, and for some reason the old guy standing up clapping, then turning away in disgust always stuck with me.

Theme from Local Hero
Walk of Life
Sultans of swing

Puckoon

Laughable to suggest they only have 3 whoppers.

Telegraph Road (live version) may rival freebird for an epic, yet still subtle, guitar solo.

Romeo and Juliet
Brothers in Arms
Sultans of Swing

Knopfler gets all the praise, however the band of Dire Straits were phenomenally tight and talented in their own right and gave him the platform to do his thing.

Let me guess without reading back, thewobbler opinion?

Puckoon
