Great band on record but has anyone heard them live?

Always liked The Last Resort.

The tribute band, Take It To The Limit, who're pretty good in fairness, are doing a few non-Dublin tour dates over the next few months - worth catching them if you're a fan.

Not a huge fan by any means but I do like their records.
It's just I've been told by a lot of fans don't bother going to see them live as you may as well just listen to them in the house. They sound the same.
Questions that shouldn't be asked shouldn't be answered

Great band on record but has anyone heard them live?

1996 in Dublin when I had to chaperone the aul lad and his brothers in and out and home , Stormont under my own steam!

Like any big concert band, a good crowd makes the occasion, I've seen Neil Young half a dozen times and the 2 poor ones all
Had half interested crowds.

Still think should have found room to get Meisner in the tour line up for the 1994 reforming even if it meant swapping in and out with Schmidt.

Randy left them, but Yeah, maybe/maybe not. TBS got a raw deal joining the Eagles just for them to pretty much immediately break up.

Hate to speak ill of the dead but Frey was a total w**ker.

Did you see the authorized documentary they did a few years before Frey died?

Himself and Henley came across as real dicks, especially with respect to Don Felder, and to a lesser extent, Meisner.

Say what you want about Felder, but he's a brilliant guitarist, and he was primarily responsible for by far and away their biggest hit. Yeah, Henley wrote the lyrics to Hotel California and sang it, but the tune and the guitar work, the crux of the song and what made it great, were written by Felder, despite their efforts to downplay what was on the demo.

Seen Take It To The Limit twice live in recent years and would certainly recommend.

Repeatedly. Felder got shafted much worse than Randy Meisner. They only refer to him now as Mr Felder and generally only through their lawyers. The Victim of Love story was the straw that broke the camels back and Irving Azoff was a m-fer long before he headed up ticketmaster! Felder did nothing wrong except question the discrepancy of payouts of the members of the band outside of Frey and Henley. Kinda wish he had have lamped Frey at the breakup show

Felder and Walsh combined - and Henley as the vocalists really drove the Eagles. Frey was lucky he rode the coat tails and I have a soft spot for both bassists. Both incidentally stolen from Poco. Which is as good a reason as any to post this banger.

We had tickets to see them play Hotel California in its entirety along with a greatest hits tour in SFO with the SFO Philarmonic but the pandemic put paid to that. Gutted that I haven't gotten to see them, but may try for the Sphere if their run extends or comes back. Folks saw them in Dublin in 2023 (think that was their 5th time seeing them). Vince Gill is an exceptional stand in, by all accounts.
