Now that they are not allowed to continue their genocide in Gaza they are focusing their resources on the West Bank

The UN says that 92 per cent of homes are destroyed or damaged, and estimates that there are more than 50,000,000 tonnes of rubble that could take up to 21 years to remove and cost about $1bn. Palestinians re-entering their abandoned neighbourhoods have found the bodies of loved ones crushed beneath the ruins of their homes. Gaza's Civil Defence has said there are 10,000 bodies still trapped below the rubble.

Given the state of play it is hard to see Hamas continuing to lead over the medium term. Nothing gets through to people like property and the sense of home. Fianna Fail couldn't overcome it in 2011.

I don't think it was rebuilt since the invasion before this one, and that was over 10 years ago, the extent of destruction now is probably 100 times worse..

Were will the money come to help them?

I don't get that rationale at all.
I would have thought that Israel's genocidal behaviour in Gaza and the wider region would be a driver for Hamas recruitment.
If anything, I could see it cementing the Hamas hold on power in Gaza.
Trump could be the power that forces change though - a big carrot of finance to rebuild if Hamas leave the scene?

As mad as this seems, would international investment in Gaza like this reduce the likelihood of future Israeli attacks on Gaza?

Depends if Trump and the Israelis want Palestinians to live in these condos.

I don't think so.

Fkn Saudi Arabia's despotic rulers must have enough money to rebuild Gaza 5 times!
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

The Saudi king

For most of them, they never really knew much about the Palestinian issue. And so they're being introduced to it for the first time through this conflict. It's a huge problem. Do I care personally about the Palestinian issue? I don't, but my people do, so I need to make sure this is meaningful."

The destruction is at least 90%. People will be living in tents for years. Let's see how it develops

Yeah looking at the images in the media you'd wonder where they could even put the tents.

I wouldn't pretend to know half of the internal workings of Gaza or Hamas, but if the people want them there I wouldn't want external forces pushing them out. The terrorist designation by the US and UK means nothing when they have been funding Israeli genocide so I don't really believe any of their commentary on Hamas - doesn't mean some of what they say about them isn't true though.

Focus needs to move back to Israel and what they've been doing for the last 40 years.
They should be forced to pay reparations to the Palestinian people and fund the rebuild. Netanyahu and his cronies should be arrested prosecuted for committing genocide - but nothing will happen.
