NAG1

Giggs was horrendous last night kept giving it away needlessly and that meant no momentum could be built up.

Bingo

Maybe his prematch routine has been changed and he wasn't himself.

Overthebar!

it annoyed me to see the hoor laughing when he missed that chance near the end!

He was probably told to lay off after damaging the Wembley dressing room with his 'routine'

I think it was an ironic laugh that the defender just got the smallest touch on it causing Giggs to screw up the shot.

Draw was probably fair enough. Both the most talked about incidents (Lovenkrands & Hernandez) were penalties in my book. There was also a fine block down by Tiote (hand/arm*) that seems to have been forgotten but I suppose it doesn't make for the same post match story if you bring that into it. United should have nicked it like they have done several games like this this season. Hernandez, Rooney and Giggs had glorious chances and only one need to go in.

Agree with some of the comments above re: referee and his crew. I thought they were bad all night despite what Fergie said.

On Carrick - he was poor again last night. I've been a major critic of him but was willing to cut him some slack after decent performances against Chelsea but the good spell hasn't lasted. Agree also that Anderson didn't set the world alight either but as stated he is only back from injury. Still think he has potential but needs to kick on.

I have said it before, I am only happy when I see a United team sheet with Carrick not listed.

Then you fail to understand the role he plays in the United team.

He is not Xavi and never will be, but he is the link man that holds everything together. He also reads play excellently - look at how many times he intercepts the ball in a match. He is by no means a superstar but is the best player at the club to perform this role - a role that is vital in the system United use.

Agree with this guy. Carrick was poor last night but he's the most consistent performer in the midfield for United this season, the deep role he plays has made him a key figure in the team.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

I'd agree on Tiote, thought that was a peno and seen them given on basis that there was distance between man and ball when shot taken and arm was raised. You'd argue that it was protection but in my eyes it was a peno.

On Hernandez, no peno but could easily have been if he had stepped for the ball, the defenders foot was there to fall over. Instead he had jumped to free himself from the tackle, mid jump realised the leg was left in and fell over. Appears strange but if he had reamined grounded and then moved for the ball and went over, I think he'd have had a nailed on peno.

Sorry - the asterisk in my previous post was supposed to explain my thoughts and the Tiote "handball" and I'd call it as you said below. I think its harsh but his arms were up and he was a bit away. They're usually given.

Not sure on this but I though if you had to evade contact that it was the same as contact - i.e. a foul?

I did think it was a strange one and I thought he was skipping through a challenge rather than avoiding it and he could easily have landed on his feet. Have seen them given alright mind.

I know a few GAA players who would win loads of free kicks for evading contact  ;D  ;)

The most entertaining thing about last night's game was surely Fat Sam's commentary.

Well the constant brown nosing of Fergie was quite entertaining.

Doogie Browser

It sounded like he was watching a porno at times, salivating over slur Alex like a pathetic lapdog.

Up The Middle

Is it possible Giggs mind wasnt on the game :o Super injunction anyone :-X
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
