Ethan Tremblay

He is worth more, but he is not worth keeping either.  He is an academy product on a serious wage, best thing is to let him move on, it will never work out at united if his heart isn't in it.  A good saving on the wages this summer with himself and Casemiro leaving also.

If Carrick gets the job, he is working from a good place going into the transfer market.  Less poison hanging around, few players need shipped on than before, bigger wage budget to work with.  He can have little excuses going into next season.
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

Could get 3-4 very tidy players wages with the money saved from that waster plus Casemiros wages.

Utd need to use the Rashford case to re-establish standards
They fucked up giving him the bloated contract and they obviously need to honour it

Avoid
Cut price deal to any club

Essential
Hold firm on a reasonable price
Welcome him back to pre-season like any other player
If he acts out segregate him again from the squad make it clear that while they owe him money and will continue to pay him, his career will be stalled until he fucks up or fucks off i.e. no move to Barca Bayern other, no Utd minutes, no England call ups, let him rot and make him irrelevant, the English media might run with it as an ongoing concern, the only true ongoing concern Carrick has is players that are bought in and translating that to points, drown him out with positivity elsewhere, if i was Carrick every time I was asked about him I'd find a way to change the topic to the Utd LGFA team

Looks like a 2 year deal for Carrick

Blowitupref

From Fabrizio Romano

Michael Carrick will stay at Manchester United as permanent manager, confirmed.

Direction clear for weeks, plan also approved by Sir Jim Ratfliffe and new deal set to be signed soon.

New deal for 2 years plus option to extend or directly 3 years, but no doubts: Carrick says yes and will sign the contract.

In other news Matthijs de Ligt out injured since November had back surgery today.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

2 year deal sensible but the real work is only starting now. What he has done thus far was good. Next seasons challenges get much bigger.

Get the deal signed and get the plans going for the transfer window, players in and out.

Still some serious work required to get the squad in shape for next season to be competitive in the league and CL now.

Carrick is a steady hand, will be interesting to see if he can make the next step with this squad, I think the summer is massive for him and getting what he needs in the door.

How was that not given as a handball in the Forest game?

Shows what shambles the handball rule has become now, nailed on free kick, no idea how they ended up awarding the goal.

Came off the knee first and apparently had Mbeumo scored it would be disallowed. The ref applied the rule in place but I can imagine another tweak of the hand ball rule is required before next season.

Totally get the rationale and the ref is to be applauded for going with the rules, but it does look farcical.

Even the fact the EPL and CL have different interpretations of it is a complete joke.

It's one of those which by letter of the law should have been allowed but by spirit of the game should not. I've said several times of the last few years I don't understand the handball rule anymore. It now reminds me of the car with the dent in father Ted.

I see Dermot Gallagher on ref watch said it shouldn't have stood but could make no reference to the rules why not other than to say the ref should have ignored the directive on how to interpret what happened.

I'm a United supporter and no way should it have stood. Thankfully a meaningless game.

The hullabaloo for a meaningless dead rubber game was something else. Not sure what the media and certain pundits will do if United start challenging for major honours again.

Decent Old Trafford sent off for Casemiro who has been a solid professional and United could have done with a few more like him over the last few years.

You may say meaningless but every game has meaning. From league position and the prize money that goes with it right down to the guy in the pub who may have a few bets on.
I didn't post about it because it's Man United I would have done the same if it was Burnley and I think the media would have been the same.
I think the hullabaloo over it is more the fact even with all the technology VAR or Refs can still feck up. There can't be anyone who thought that wasn't handball apart from the one man who gave the goal!
Anyway good to see they have admitted they were wrong.
