Worth bearing in mind any Utd loss is more newsworthy than 90% of teams winning 90% of their games

So ... they're clearly fucked on and off the field, letting a 72yo novice with no track record loose was always going to be a v high risk strategy, but born out of commercial greed, as ever

I reckon this gaffer has a bit about him but he needs an exceptional transfer window, not a big spunk but needs to acquire players that will dig in and can raise the bar even if only moderately in relative terms

The season is quite simply reduced to 9 games of Europa League, whatever car crash the Premier League campaign becomes is pretty tolerable given the basket case he inherited, but the EL and ticket to CL is there if they can rise themselves and pull a few results out their hoop

Substandard

Christ, it's dismal stuff.  Adequate and consistent- would there be 3 or 4 in the entire squad that would even tick that box?
If there was even enough of that level of player, something could be built, but too many are flaky and are nowhere near a competitive level.  What are considered to be big players in the current set up are woefully overrated.  Ten Haag added an extra layer of extravagant mediocrity, and it will take years to run out those contracts,  considering any offers for most of them would be peanuts at best.
I could go on, but there's no point.  Finished school and had many's a good drink celebrating great wins during the Fergie era at a time when going out to watch United games was a significant part of the social life, and gradually grew up past all that.  But now I genuinely think I mightn't see a league title or Champions league again in my life.

Captain Scarlet

Like Rashford must be gone as he is needed.
Bruno is fluffing his lines so I'd imagine midfield will need shaking up.

Maguire has come full circle in fairness but too many are playing so poorly.

It's a massive mess.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Spare a thought for Rangers this evening, struggling with entitlement syndrome too, it would appear the clubs have been twinned

Modern society for you whereby a nobody with a fake name has made millionaire out of himself off back of a big poorly run club who went into decline a decade ago and never came out of it.

There are plenty of commentators who are nobodies. He took a chance and good luck to him. There are fans out there that partly blame him for Utd's demise, becauae of negative comments. However they work that out.

SaffronSports

Is he even a United fan? I know there's a load of talk he grew up a Forest supporter.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a man that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing, last horse out switch off the lights

The seven stages of being a United manager:

1. Start the early part of the tenure with Rashford in the line up. He scores regularly. All is good.

2. The team flatlines for a sustained period. Things aren't good.

3. Rashford is dropped to the bench in an attempt to increase the team's work ethic. Noticeable improvements in energy begin to show. Things are better.

4. Players who aren't used to running so much, begin to pick up knocks. A lack of depth becomes obvious. Goals become hard to come by. Things aren't good.

5. Rashford returns to the team, more out of necessity more than anything else. He has a super sharp month and United pull off some fine results. It looks like we have our United back.

6. Rashford gets a new contract and United keep their proud youth team to senior team record intact. Fans are buzzing.

7. Rashford stops running, stops caring. This spreads throughout the team. United's season dwindles out. The summer's signings are questionable or just plain useless. The end is nigh for the latest manager.

Amorim has raced through the early stages. Stage 5 starts today.
