It was LVGesque for the first hour but the last 30 mins was right out of the Fergie era right down to injury time goal. Martial, Mata, Ibra and Rooney all average but fair play to Rooney for the bit of class at the end.

Nice to win but the league games against better attacking teams will provide a better idea to where Utd really is
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Jose fairly cut Smalling's goal celebration short!   ;D.  He had the look of a naughty schoolboy getting caught!

Was he not signalling to smalling to get ready to come on ?

Yeah and Smalling couldn't wait to get his tracksuit top off to get on and get his win bonus :)

It was assumed that Smalling and Bailly would be 1st choice CB pairing but Blind and Bailly look so comfortable together it might take Smalling a while to get back in.

Thought Blind was very good yesterday. His reading of the game is superb. Very intelligent player who'd would have been Jose clear out  list but his performances to date have forced a rethink. Martial needs a serious boost of confidence. If the whole team play then they could mount a serious challenge but a few are getting carried at the minute by a few of the lesser stars. A couple if injuries to those up front could seriously impact on the season. Must keep everyone fit ir try at least. Hat if to Fellini as well who is showing why exactly he was bought from Everton.

Blind has had a superb start to the season, I've always been critical of him but last season it wasn't his lack of height and strength that was the problem it was his decision making trying to win balls he had little chance of winning; It looks like that was LVG's fault as Blind & Smalling both were taking too many risks.

Martial looks short on confidence, I'm not worried about him though. He's only 20 and inconsistency will be part of his game.

It was like the old days in the last 20 minutes, very impressed with the way we kept going. Mkhitaryan has to start from now on, he's too good a player to be sat on the bench.

Yet again another hopeless performance from Rooney, one good bit of skill and cross doesn't make up for a poor performance. He is so ponderous on the ball and his lack of awareness is appalling, lost the ball 3 times in 30 seconds during the 1st half because he hadn't a clue where an opponent was.

On to the Derby next, should be a good game as City will certainly attack us.

Rooney won the game for United, the man played a ball through to Rashford a handfull of players in the world could have played.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

A rare moment of clarity from Stew :)

Rashford and Mkhitaryan did more in 20 minutes than Rooney has in 3 games. The provided the impetus and ramp up of pressure. Rooney did well to make the assist for the goal, clever way he took the pass wrong footed a really tired defender but he should be nowhere near this team. great run by Rashford as highlighted on MOTD (for once they did a bit of decent analysis).

Rooney is a complete joke and Fellaini is an accident waiting to happen. Overall though the team is much better and will continue to improve I believe. Valencia and Shaw were huge losses last season that were overlooked by many. The new signings all look positive and much as it galls me to admit it they wouldn't be there except for the new manager, well Pogba and Ibra for sure.

Maybe Rashford will be that type of player, hate the term "impact sub" but maybe that's how he will be used

Shaw was a huge loss and Valencia is underrated by a lot of our support, he's improved as a defender. Fellaini would have been one of the first players I'd get rid of but he's done well so far although it won't be long before he gets sent off and costs us.

If as expected Aguero is banned for the derby it will be a huge loss to City, he's their best player and has a brilliant record against United.

Rashford just scored a hat trick on his England U21 debut. Serious operator.

magpie seanie

Dickhead egotistical managers will put him in his place.

Rashford's rise is something else, this time last year he was in the 18's and starting out as a centre forward after been a winger for the previous years. He wasn't on many people's radar as a real tip for the top as he's barely played as a centre forward, only played a few times in the u18's before he moved up to the 21's where he spent most of time there out wide. He's a special talent.

I see United are getting a bit of stick over moving Busby's grandchildren from the directors box, they've had 6 free tickets worth just under £42,000 a year going back years and will still be getting free tickets. They've done more than ok from the club.
