As someone who detests Utd and everything about them, they've been hard to dislike this season, as they've been pathetic.  Mourinho is easy to detest, so happy days.

Good man Billy thanks for stopping by  ::)

Mourinho being paid £75million in a 5 year contract and reports have emerged that he has already received £4m so that Man Utd could veto any move to any other club. Staggering sums of money.

No wides

With that amount of money let's hope they finish at least top 10.

Who cares about the money? really?

If the club can afford which they obviously can then they can pay him whatever they want. He will have had guarantees around a transfer budget to go along with it, so as long as the players are able to come in then most fans wont give a monkeys what is paid to the manager. Especially when they weigh this up against the interest payments are being made or the money the Glazers are syphoning off from the club to prop up the property empire in the States.

Jim O Neil of Goldman Squid tried to put together a consortium to buy Man Utd. People who were into football. And the price was so high they couldn't. The Glazers manage the club for money. they want to sell it for multiples of what they paid.
They are the issue, not the manager

highorlow

Van Gaal sacked.

No surprise really.

There should be plenty of "drama" in the "transfer window" for the soccer ball lads to be talking about over the summer.

God have mercy on us all.
They get momentum, they go mad, here they go

I think you're spot on Seafoid, although the manager is important as well - but the right one (in terms of blooding new players and the style of play) will never be brought it unless it is the best financial option while the Glazers are still in control of the club.

This is the main problem with modern day professional soccer. The sums being thrown about are so vulgar yet are perfectly acceptable. Fans are consumers and the sport is mostly about branding and image now rather than the football. Over half of Man Utd's income is now derived from off field activities, it is a massive cash cow that is growing into a commercial beast and Woodward and the Glazers are milking it for all it is worth. Your question ''who cares?'' unfortunately is the sad reality of modern day football where grotesque sums of money are being paid to the main actors partaking in one big soap opera. Many fans will share your opinion but that is a sad indictment of the game and the PL in particular.

I didnt say it was something to be proud of, more a reflection of the modern era of football.

United just hit the perfect storm of being successful at the right time when the EPL took off money wise.

The sums are grotesque for sure but that is just the way of it I suppose.

Some nonsense on here from Mourinho passed his sell by date to the manager is not the problem but the Glazers. Mourinho this time last year was manager of the league champions and as much I hate the glazers they are not responsible for LVG's poor performances as a manager this year.

As for the style of football we haven't been great to watch since 2008 and Mourinho's teams aren't that bad to watch.

A rumour started last week that Mourinho wants Brian Kidd back involved in the club, Fergie really will be furious if that happens.

As for our captain marvel he has shown his true colours leaking information to Daniel Taylor & Mark Ogden over the weekend. Rooney really is a c**t.

-See we've a new barman.
-Where?
-Over there – over beside the till.
-Oh yeah. Hang on, but. He looks like - . It isn't, is it?
-Louis Van Gaal – yeah, it is.
-Fuckin' hell. He got another job quick enough, didn't he?
-Yeah. Although –
-Wha'?
-Well, manager of the world's biggest football club to pullin' our pints. It's a big fuckin' career shift, isn't it?
-The money probably isn't as good either, is it?
-Wouldn't think so, no.
-He's pullin' a pint now, look it. God, he's fuckin' slow, isn't he?
-It's probably the job he should've been doin' all along.
-Wha'? Pullin' pints o' Guinness?
-There's the time, tradition, the whole routine. Orderin' a pint should be slow and very fuckin' predictable. Like Man United have been for the last few years.
-Look at him now.
-Wha'?
-Your man there just ordered a pint from him. An' look at Louis. He has his fuckin' clipboard out an' – what's he writin' in it?
-He's probably drawin' the pint. Plannin' how much of the glass he'll fill early doors.
-An' his route to the tap.
-I told yeh. It's the perfect job for him.
-Until the place fills up.
-Then he's fucked.
