"While City beat United 4-1 and 3-0 last season, finished 22 points ahead of their neighbours and won a second league title in three years, Van Gaal believes their support shows the true size of United.Van Gaal said: "Abroad we have more fans and followers on social media. Also Bayern Munich is the biggest club of Germany. The same thing for Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain. It [would take] a long time for Manchester City to reach that level."United have won 20 league titles, to City's four, and have been champions of Europe three times, whereas their rivals have never progressed beyond the last 16 of the Champions League. "

Going by metrics such as social media and Champions League and reducing current form to irrelevant would Liverpool be a bigger club than Man Utd on the Van Gaal scale?

Stonewall penalties the both of them.! Crazy decision not to give them.

Huge gulf in class. City should be at least 3 up.
De Gea is a fine keeper in fairness.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Captain Obvious

Very foolish by Smalling. Two good saves by DeGea not much else happened in that half.

GJL

Utd trying to park the bus. Can't see them lasting to the end.

Captain Obvious

Smalling sending off the turning point of that game, his side might have drawn that game if he wasn't so foolish.

Milltown Row2

brilliant game, both teams played really well, defo one penalty for sure, these thing happen and usually even themselves out over the course of the year.

City were by far the better team even before the sending off and could have been 3 up and then should have had two stonewall penalties.
United only got back into when City started to sit back.

Its OK though as United have more likes on Facebook.... ;D

Depsite being 2nd best for a lot of the game we could've and should've grabbed a point. 2 decent performances in a week though so signs of improvement.

The Jon Jo Shelvey lookalike LL better get all of his hilarious quips in soon as I would place any amount of money that he chooses that we'll finish above them this season .
