Have to say, there has not been a Premiership won yet that has not been bought, in one way or another. Once you have the top professional players who can be bought by the financially stronger clubs there's no chance for the poorer sides.

United fans have been playing 'the players coming through' card, but this is really a myth. I mean there's a trickle of players coming through, but all the first team regulars are 15 Million plus signings. What regulars do not fit into this cathegory (ignoring Giggs and Scholes)?

Today, is a worring day for Manchester United, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelski and (to a far lesser degree) Liverpool. City are now champions of the most popular league in the world. No longer will they have to fool players like Robinho into signing for them, no longer will they have to make do with good players who have massive baggage.

A strange season has almost reached it's conclusion. Looking back you could say the neighbours almost copied each other.

Champions league group stage knock outs.
Eliminated in the same round of the Europa league.
Early FA cup exits.
Both failed to reach the league cup final.
In the league both have the same amount of wins,draws,defeats & points


It's looks like City will win it now on goal difference & as SLIGONIAN said above you couldn't begrudge them after waiting 44yrs for the title but as the saying goes.. there's a thin line between success and failure

It's always seems a thin line when it's you first title in a long time. The thinnest of lines has surely to be Arsenals late second goal to win the title at Anfield in 1989. They won the title on Goals scored.

Indeed i watched that game live on ITV was a unreal way to win a title probably will never be matched.

Was surpassed today. Liverpool recovered to win the title the following season it's what United need to do now & they are more than capable.

Only a few weeks ago United were leading the league by eight points. The best team won the league congrats to them but no need to talk a pile of nonsense after it's won.

Wrong. What i really said was the Vidic injury has cost United about -10 points the same could be said about Tevez if he didn't go AWOL for most of the season. Both finished on 89 points i see no reason why both couldn't have ended up with the same points as Real Madrid are about to get in Spain.

All titles are "bought" to differing degree. Where the money comes from is another matter.
Since the Premier League started, 2 clubs (Man Utd and Arsenal) have financed their titles through money generated within their club. 3 clubs (Chelsea, Blackburn and now City) have won the titles from large external cash injections.
Could City keep winning titles if the cash transfusions stopped? Probably not.

There is every chance for poorer sides...They just need to find a generous Sugar Daddy.

I hope you're in good Kompany. I can imagine this is a difficult time for United fans. Don't take it to Hart. Yaya gotta keep your head up. It wont be De Jong before you're smiling again. Look for the Silva lining. It may sound a bit Clichy but you'll be okay.
