Jeez how bad is the Premier League this season with that United team in 2nd spot 3 points off the top.

How shit are Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs who have alot less points than that load of crap tonight... Shocking stuff all over the pitch from Man U
DRIVE THAT BALL ON!!

I see the scousers taking comfort in City's win last night as some sort of reverse victory for them as it may take the title from United.

What they fail to realise if City do win as they all expect, United will strengthen, as will Chelsea.  For those scousers who were adults in 1990 it will not only mean they will almost certainly go more than 26 years with out a title but they might not even see another one in their lifetime.

:D :D:'( :'(

Strong winds ??? He's taking the piss ?

Worst performance of the season had to be getting beat 6-1 by City or beat by basement club Blackburn. Newcastle are getting no credit - they're a decent side.

Visiting manager Sir Alex Ferguson said prior to the match that his side may be affected by the strong winds and they failed to cope in the difficult conditions while Alan Pardew's Newcastle thrived. But the away side were also slow to the second ball and ineffective in attack.

The defeat leaves the champions three points behind fierce local rivals Manchester City who beat Liverpool 3-0 on Tuesday.

And with Tottenham breathing down their necks, Ferguson will need to call upon all his great managerial experience to lift his players again after two successive league defeats.

This was arguably his side's worst performance of the season, but the Magpies deserve credit because they were faster, stronger and sharper.

Watching it back first goal was helped with the winds. Tonight was probably the worst performance by United this season 6-1 result would say different though 10 men & three injury time goals gave it a flawed look.

It must be noted that he said this prior to the match and he may have been asked "It's dead windy out there, Alex, do you think your team could be affected by this?"

He had an excuse ready - he knows his team are limited. Time to get the chequebook out.

He has to spend in this window on a quality central midfielder if such is available.

Very bad. At the start of the week I thought Liverpool might draw with city and Utd would beat Newcastle to go 2 clear.  :-\

Bottom line is the 'buck' stops with the manager. If he is in charge of running the team he is failing big time. Too many avearge players in key positions. If he isn't in charge of picking players to sign then what the hell is he doing in the job as according to his socialist principles he is contradicting the very values which he extols so eloquently. Time to bite the bullet Fergie. You're only as good as your last game.

United were pathetic. Newcastle deserved to win though.

I would be 99% certain Fergie will be a stubborn git and not buy anyone during this transfer window.

Does anyone else feel it is a real possibility that they could cash in on Rooney. He has now a bumper contract so his transfer value is at its peak. If you could get £50million for him you could buy a top MF player at about £25Milllion and a top striker, maybe Hugain, at the same price.
Rooney doesn't look interested. He obviously has lost respect for Fergie. Acting the maggot and that.

Totally agree. Fergie has always sold players when their star was highest, even engineering situations to get rid of them, and make them look the bad guy, and Fergie has mostly got these decisions right.

I thought the pre Blackburn incident looked a bit like that starting again, and last night backed that up.
