Quote from: imtommygunn on November 03, 2025, 05:13:38 PMIt must be something like that. Visiting Israel for an educational visit was always going to blow up and they knew that. It is probably just another vehicle to shit stir with to the lowest common denominator.

(Worst of all is it will work)

Division plain and simple, deliberate sh1thousery and shows the statelet for what it is... The unionist leaders continue to push toward a united Ireland quicker than the nationalist leaders
We'll be building statues of the likes of Foster and Givan when we do get the United Ireland. :D

In the short term it's to outflank the tuv on "staunchness" and split off any remaining UUp voters they can get. Pissing off everyone else is just a bonus.

Looks that way. The UUP could carve out a serious voter base of sensible unionists but they're stone useless.

Substandard

They never seem to think long-term,  or even medium-term.  They seem to rely on being fueled by short-term rage always.
I wonder are they looking at a Farage-led government in the hopes that their staunchness and absolute Britishness will seal their place in the union?

Quote from: imtommygunn on November 02, 2025, 10:13:26 PMWhat is the dup game with this Israel visit ? They blatantly knew the furore it would create. Are they trying to bring the assembly down?

Judging by the increased number of councillors and mla's (of all parties) doing photo opps in constituency I'd say an election is on the cards next year.

The giveaway is the number of political reps showing up in Gaa club social media comments who couldn't find the pitch with a Sat nav.

The current crop of politicians playbook is to spend until the money runs out, refuse to make any tough decisions on anything and then have a phoney principled row/decision in order to pull the house down until someone writes a cheque and/or pressure gets too great and they go back in.

Rinse and repeat.

There will be no more repeats, if Stormont collapses it will not come back. Rachel Reeves will say that the budget will be the same as the North-East of England and she'll tell Benn to start talks about the right time to have a border poll. You have to wonder why the DUP want this.

The DUP are chasing the hard liners as they see gaining the votes from the TUV as their way of maintaining their dominance within unionism, they care not one jot about the wider community, never have and never will.

I see Pengelly "can't fit in" the Presidential inauguration.

That will stop their most extreme switching to TUVUDA!

You're completely delusional. Flogging off parts of the UK and giving the Scottish independence movement which is reeling a massive shot in the arm by arranging an NI border poll would do wonders for the Labour party's reputation with the Little Englander voters they are currently haemorrhaging.

I assume you also believe this will happen in the same week that they hand the Falklands over to the Argentinians, re-join the customs union, pay reparations to the Jamaicans and hand the 66 World Cup trophy over to the Germans because Hurst's shot never crossed the line.

This place is a shithole, but it's every inept individual on the hill, in saying that are they that inept, they are making a fortune for themselves and their families and friends, couldn't give a flying one about anyone else, pass no legislation, make no decisions, fix nothing, resolve nothing, invest in nothing and we all vote these wankers in.  Sinn Féin could run tayto packets, ham sandwiches, 3 legged pigs, whatever in Armagh and they would get in and yet they do f**k all.

There would be a good chunk of that brigade who'd happily hand the North back over if you told them how much we're costing them.
