I think the scoring system maybe makes the predictions look worse than they are. I know myself especially as I was playing catch up would have been much more open to picking draws because of that 3 points on offer. That said I like the dynamic and am enjoying this so far

Looking at the max possible score and saying that anyone who scored less than 23 got less than 50% is the wrong way to look at it.

There's been 32 games.

I predicted 19 out of the 32 games correctly which is 59.38%

If I had predicted draws in every game I would have got 21 points.

The first round of the league tends to be the most unpredictable in terms of results.

I would expect the average level of correct picks by to improve a bit as the league goes on and it becomes clearer what sort of form various teams are in.

Also 7 draws is way above average for 2 rounds of the league.
