110 is the magic number Proposal B must hit on Saturday if a league-based All-Ireland championship is to be introduced for the 2022 season.

183 delegates are eligible to vote at Saturday's Special Congress, which means either of the two proposals to reform the All-Ireland SFC must receive at least 110 votes (60% backing) if they are to come into effect from next year.

Of the 183 votes, almost half - 90 - is spread across the 32 counties. The overseas units carry 34 votes, Central Council has 52 votes, with seven past presidents of the GAA also entitled to vote.

Found the above online.

that makes sense but then you need to dig into the Central Council vote, is it a block vote based on an agreed decision or is it 52 individuals, allowed to vote whatever which way they want?

New proposals seem very much under the radar

Not too inspiring from what i saw elsewhere. Heard cork co.
chairman on newstalk, his proposal was Proposal B, with 2 league pts awarded to to the winners of the provincial championships which was the 'link' to keep tyem relevant. I much prefer my proposals😁

Green football championship. Five-week provincial championships. Round-robin Sam Maguire and Tailteann Cups follow. Sam Maguire Cup comprises eight provincial finalists and eight next best in that year's league

Sailed in at Congress with near 95% of the vote.

U19 grade to replace U20 not voted in, 56% of the vote it got needed over 60% to pass.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Did I dream this or are Laois putting forward mandatory recreational drug tests at club level?

An exquisitely bad idea. Well meant but awful thinking.

Imo,green is better than red. Though it would be a long haul for the Ulster champs who then manage to finish first in the round robin and end up only at the 1/4 final stage.

Yer head would be reeling after all that.
I can see them all being adopted for Inter County only with a review at end of NFL.
I can't accept a 40.5m free with wind behind you worth twice a great point from play under pressure where the 13m meets the sideline.
Or 2 lumpers from 40.5m being worth more than a goal.

Agreed started to read them but very repetitive - total shock to the system if all approved. Don't know how to feel about it, something had to change but feels a bit on the extreme end.

Was the original plan not to have the new rules go to Congress as one package motion than individual motions?

Yeah, team playing with a wind 2nd half be at a massive massive advantage when game gets in to last few mins and 1 or 2 pts in it. Really really worry for the game if these all pass

lfdown2

Watching the club matches at present I have myself convinced that the issue is less about the rues and more about competition structures, when 2 teams of equal quality meet it more often that not results in a watchable/entertaining game (in my opinion), similarly at inter county I believe from an overall competition perspective the league provides a greater level of entertainment. Not saying that there isn't merit is some of those rules - tap and go / discipline related rules etc - but I am worried that they may make a farce of this years competitions.

New rules such as keeping 3 in one half at all times. 2 pointer and Restriction on pass to goalkeeper in his own half have all got the green light at Congress.

A very different game for 2025 and which teams will suit these rules best?

The game is fucked.

All 49 motions put forward by the Football Review Committee were strongly backed by delegates.

All up for review again in a year i believe and even then will only be slight adjustments.
