Rosenallis Co Laois

Rosenallis sounds even better in Irish - Ros Fhionnghlaise (wood of the clear stream).
A lovely little village in the foothills of the Sliabh Bloom mountains.

Ah, I see we're still at it..Mayo has more than its fair share of quixotic placenames but pride of all goes, IMO anyway,  to  Crucksbullaghadawn. It's a hill near Manulla on the Claremorris- Castlebar road. I've no idea what it means either.
