Last year dead rubbers didn't go ahead in this competition but remains up to the two counties and both might feel they need the extra game before next months championship.

The Galway team below who lost to Kerry. Most of that lot are underage next year, the Mayo game is less than 2 weeks away. Matthew Tierney is to come back into that side and perhaps the eldest of the 2 Monaghan's.

Galway
1. Conor Flathery
2. Conall O’Caoimh
3. Sean Fitzgerald
4. Cian Deane
5. Cathal Sweeney
6. Tony Gill
7. Jack Glynn
8. Conor Raferty
9. James McLaughlin
10. Alan Greene
11. Aidan Halloran
12. Jason Reilly
13. Brian Mannion
14. Tomo Cullhane
15. Matthew Cooley

Subs:
21. Oisin Gormally for 12. Jason Reilly (H/T)
22. McDara Geraghty for 13. Brian Mannion (H/T)
23. Brian Harlowe for 11. Aidan Halloran (H/T)
24. Nathan Grainger for 10. Alan Greene (H/T)

Yeah Paul Kelly is another who should come into the mix - I think he played in the previous game against Kerry.
The younger Monaghan was wing back in the minor final 2 years ago so may come into it as well as the older brother.
