This will be a big help to our new managerial team to see what talent is out there..

Am I right in saying the Map in picture on laois today is wrong. Is it Laois today's map or county boards???.. Spink doesnt border any of the clubs in South region I reckon. I wonder is it a mistake  or done on purpose to cover up Spink farce.

Rusty

Dunno who made the map but youre correct, st Josephs has a large catchment, stretches down to the Swan which is between Crettyard and Spink.

No Attride or Done in Divisional teams . Otherwise as expected . Thought Gary Walsh would have gave it another go this year but perhaps he's off travelling again .

Some strange names in there tbh. Obviously some selectors pushing lads from their own club. Maybe no harm to see these lads. Could be a hidden gem out there somewhere.

Portarlington 5 ?

Courtwood & Josephs 8 & 9

No doubt there is a few decent players from both St Josephs and Courtwood but this makes it farcical.  That they out number Port by this percentage.

Looks like from provisonal league fixtures it's Roscommon in the first match . Tough start .

Id imagine a lot of players turned down the offer. Surely port would have had more than 5? They had 5 on the panel last year. Also i dont see the point in retired county players playing this competition.  And no u20's will be able to play cos the u20 club championship is on this weekend, not an ideal fixture.

I think port actually have 6 named but havent sent in any under 20s yet and sean byrne is recovering from injury, some clubs are sending in lads who cant make there own senior team which us ridiculous

7 Courtwood not 8. Port haven't made their under 20s available either which might explain some of it. Also Portlaoise should have been with that North team so without them it weakens them a lot. Thought Hatch Finlay might have been named. Rory Bracken too.

Agree. This divisional set up not worth it. U-20 running also and you have 3 clubs in leinster. Where is the point or what is a player going to prove here that he has not already in the championship. Some of the players on the list would not make a junior team let alone a county team and it is the number of mentors which is another joke pushing their own players

Gary Comerford from stradbally is a very stylish footballer.  If he committs to the GAA next year it will be a big boost to stradbally .

Did he play for them at all this year?

I'm pretty sure he didn't.  Wasn't he contracted to Cork city ? Enjoyed a decent spell with Waterford Utd and then moved to Cork city . Talented chap .

Any hidden gems found last night?

Niall Corbet from Clonaslee was excellent. Some free taker and offers something from general play as well.

Darragh Connolly deserves a chance, as does Jason Moore who's extremely fast.
