Some decent feats of scoring in hurling in the last couple of months:
Pat Horgan struck 3-10 against Kilkenny.
In the Leinster u20 c'ship this year Offaly player Cathal Kiely scored 0-20 in their 1 point win over Dublin (Offaly 1-29 Dublin 2-25).

Previously:
Cora Staunton scored 9-12 in a match they won 15-19 to 1-5
In 54 Nicky Rackard scored 7-7 in an All Ireland semi-final and 5-5 in the Leinster final
Padraig Joyce scored 2-18 against Mayo underage
Joe Canning has posted 2-12, 2-9, 1-18 and 4-9 in games he has lost!
Joe Bergin scored 5-10 in a minor B final.

Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

I think in general Matt Connor held the leading scoring records for league and championship for 5 straight yrs or sthing until his unfortunate accident.. Scored 2.08 or 09 against Kerry and still lost.

The record for highest individual score in a men's inter-county game was by Carrickmore & Tyrone's late, great, Frankie Donnelly. He scored 4-11 against Fermanagh in 1957, and it still hasn't been beaten, 63 years on.

I think Donegal won a couple of Dr Lagan cups back in the 60s. Apart from the McKenna cup, it was the only senior football "trophy" we ever won before the real one in 1972.

And? Competitions were structured differently 60 odd years ago. The NFL had four divisions, (these were not based on footballing ability, but regionally based). The Dr Lagan Cup was essentially a cup awarded to the northern section of the NFL, so not a national title, but not exactly meaningless in it's time. Players can only compete in the competitions that are there for them during their career, and to this day, nobody has beaten Frankie Donnelly's record in any inter-county game in any competition.

No that 2-6 score from Keaveney included frees, as did Mikey Sheehy's 2-6 in 1979.
Highest score all scored from play in a Senior All Ireland final (to the best of my knowledge) is still Frank Stockwell's 2-5 against Cork in 1956 (which will always remain the highest score for a 60 minute final) that was matched by Eoin Liston for Kerry with 3-2 all from play in one of the 4 in a row finals.
