Tyrone's noughties team would stuff the Dubs!
« on: September 13, 2018, 08:54:17 PM »
These Dublin lads are fit as a fiddle but bloody hell can they kick a point from outside 30 yards?

Consider the great Tyrone team with decent conditioning versus the Dubs.

Kevin Hughes would rip Brian Fenton a new one in midfield. Conor Gormley would leave at least four players in tears before the game even started. Stevie O'Neill would kick a few ridiculous scores, Peter Canavan would score 2-8, Brian Dooher would run riot. Brian McGuigan would spray foot passes around the place and Ciaran Kilkenny would be like 'what's a kick pass???'. Up da ra.

Ryan McMenamin could drop his knees on Jack McCaffrey and Phillip Jordan could charge at Brian Fenton.
if at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

And then again stevie oneill Peter canavan mugsy mulligan. Brian mcguigan Brian Dooher Ger Cavlin Enda McGinley would rip them a new arse hole. Tyrone in the 2000s had some of the best forwards of all time playing for them. I will  Dream.on.........

Have a read back to what happened in early 2004 and think to yourself if it possibly may have had a huge impact on that team ability to put a serious challenge in that year.

Tyrone had serious competitors in Kerry and Armagh.at that time. All 3 teams were around the same level so doing back to backs was extremely difficult.

That is true! Forgot about that! Was wondering how an average Mayo side beat them that year. Between winning Sam for the first time as well there was a lot going on in those young minds. I also think Mickey Harte gave too much to the attention to the McKenna Cup, this attention meant Tyrone players were burnt out in their late 20's. where as Kerry players from the same era played a lot longer into their early thirties. In other words they were minded by their said coach.

Football moves on a lot in 10-15 years. That Tyrone team wouldn’t lay a glove on the current Dublin team.

Yes because that Tyrone team would be too old now to lay a glove on the current Dublin team.

No, because the Tyrone team of that time played nowhere near the level of the current Dublin team.

Guys like Ricey, Gormley & Hub Hughes in their prime would'nt lay a glove on the current Dublin team?
