This was some article, your man who likes to watch on TV and doesn't go isn't bothered and the soccer man never goes isn't happy.
I don't think there is many overly bothered from what I can see.

Impressed they found men in the town who didnt assume it was Glasgows Celtic Park they were asking about

Wildweasel74

Bother to ask anybody outside the city!

BBC Reporter Emmet McElhatton has gone the extra mile for this article, which is titled,

Fans divided on the sponsorship of the Derry GAA stadium

The intrepid reporter has found a mighty sample of 2 fans, one of which is a Derry City fan first and foremost but "has always retained an interest in his county's Gaelic football fortunes as well"

YTP scheme stuff

I see Tohill was told he won't be involved too? He divides opinion but I think there's a role for him.

Maybe off the bench or something but surely we could find him useful at some stage.

We see what way he gets on the mor nite. Higgins injured doesnt help Midfield options. UL should be way too strong for Queens.

jb77

Didn't catch there last game I see he kicked another ground 2p free but not sure if he missed any. Big athlete could always be useful.

It's a shame we don't have a consistent  ground kicker. If Ethan Jordan got the frees and 45s that Shane and Shea got on Saturday he would probably score double digits.

It was the 'Fans Divided' line that got me..lol.

Then I read it.  A sample of a few people...who don't follow Derry GAA. FFS.

Anton sounds genuinely gutted at being cut from the panel. He gets some amount of stick on this forum and online but I too think he should be a panel member we simply don't have too many 6ft plus athletic fielders to be tossing to the kerb under the new rules but for a man who needs minutes and football to improve he played little or no ball for Swatragh in-fact I would say he has played more for Queens than he has for his club the past two years. So he done himself no favours going to Australia for the summer rather than playing club football to stake a claim for a county call up.

I wasn't expecting him to start if everyone is available but i did think he would be part of the panel. I thought he improved last year as well. We've struggled against teams with really big men in the middle under the new rules. The McKenna cup v Donegal a few week ago and the Dublin championship game last year when POCB cleaned up, spring to mind. He would be a good option to have in the squad.

Might of takin some abuse online but what his club teammate shouted at management and into the stand after being replaced by him vs Newbridge is far worse.

tbrick18

Yeah I would have thought he'd be a useful squad player. Didn't do much wrong last year, just didnt drive us forward either. Always thought his distribution of the ball was good.

Can't remember who it was that came off, "Why the f*ck are we pandering to him, useless, hasn't been here all year" etc for the whole to stand hear. One of the McGrogans then got into it with a linesman so I never heard the end of the Tohill talk.

I'm fairly sure someone mentioned it here before

Last year i did think he should came on against Peadar Coffey O'Bryne, that lad wasnt mobile but was catching and knocking down alot of ball to Dublin players.

You should stick to slagging off Derry hurling because you haven't a clue about Derry football if you think Tohill could be useful for anything. A man that can't make a Swatragh team couldn't be useful for anything!
