Spoken like a patriotic Newbridge man.lol.

Dungiven, Lavey, Magherafelt, Screen and S/neil are dangerous for the two that appear to be slightly out in front.

Theres a few on that list that aren't even close. Glen in front if fully fit, Newbridge just behind for me, Slaughtneil still third.

Except, I'm not from the Bridge :) Just an observation/opinion.

Lads, any word that Meenagh will be announced tonight and then do the club draw tomorrow?

Has it went through the clubs yet, I thought it would be a thursday job but I forgot about the draw. Maybe they can do it all at once, save on the electric bill

Nothing can be announced until it is ratified by clubs. This is the GAA not English Premier League unfortunately

CIARÁN Meenagh has stepped away from his role as Down coach, Gaelic Life understands, with the Tyrone man set to be appointed as the new Derry manager as soon as Thursday.

While the announcement may end up being put back, Derry sources have confirmed that it may be announced at the launch of their club championship draws, but have added that a few details have yet to be finalised.

One thing that does appear clear is that Meenagh will have a big-hitter in his backroom team in the former of Oakleaf 2022 All-Star Chrissy McKaigue.

Have been refreshing the Louth account but nothing up yet on our appointment

Brendan

Division 1 seems sorted heading into the last round of fixtures with Newbridge winners and Castledawson automatically relegated, Ballinderry into the play off.

Division 2 in for a rip roaring final day with Banagher beat tonight and Limavady winning they are now ahead by a pointg going into the final round. Banagher will play neighbours Foreglen and Limavady play Greenlough

jb77

The amount of reserve games conceded tonight is brutal, 2 played out of around 13

A top appointment. Did really well in 2023. Players like and respect him. Tactically astute. Division 2 next year to bed in.

Lads you are forgetting about Magherafelt under horse Devlin and Slaughtneil who are reinvigorated under Doran, remember they have class players in Rodgers, McKaigue and McGuigan too

Personally I feel it will be hard to see past the usual suspects I.e Bridge, Glen, Rossa and S'Neil. Can someone break from the pack below to bring a challenge is the question. Beyond the 'top 4' there is a group of about 5/6 teams of similar abilities IMO.  Hopefully the new management team will be watching all and find a couple of gems  ;D

Seems like the Meenagh appointment is edging closer with McKaigue, Boyle and Martin McConnell all part of the ticket.
I'd have liked to have seen a forwards coach in the setup, but I reckon this is a strong appointment in general.
Players will buy into Meenagh, who also has a tactical head on him.

No question, on their day those two could beat anybody.

I had a look at Odds Checker and they have: Glen 8/13, Newbridge 10/3, Slaughtneil 7/2, Magherafelt 8/1, Lavey 14/1, Bellaghy 20/1, Ballinderry 25/1.

Glen are strong favourites. I wouldnt have had them that far ahead, but bookies are never that far out.
