Denis (Dinny)Cahill
« on: December 19, 2016, 02:40:21 PM »
Very sad to hear of the passing of young Dinny Cahill of the Ratheneskia Gaa club.

Dinny was a very promising hurler and had represented and captained Laois all all grades on the way up including being on the minor panel that reached the leinster final a few years back despite being only 16 at the time.

He was also very decent at football and was one of Ratheniska's star young players in both codes.

Thoughts go out to his family who only recently had to deal with the loss of his grandad Martin Cahill another great Laois Gaa man.

Rest in Peace Dinny !

A terrible tragedy to befall this decent family.

Thoughts with his mother in particular at this time.

Rip Dinny.

May the sod of Ratheniska rest lightly upon you.

That's terrible news to hear and so close to Christmas. It's always very sad when one so young passes away for whatever reason.

Thoughts with the family and RIP to Dinny a talented Laois GAA man.

An awful thing.
Thoughts with his family, friends and all those who he came into contact with on the hurling and football fields of Laois and beyond.

We are heartbroken, one of our treasures has been torn from us too soon by this horrible blight on our young men. Please, for the love of God, talk to your young men. Talk to each other. Avoid this devastation. Dinny we loved you, we f**king adored you, we will always love you. You were ours. You were one of us. We will go on but it will never be as it should have been. There aren't enough words, there will never be enough tears.

Talk to each other. Please. This shouldn't happen.

Unbelievable. God bless his family with the strength to get through this. At least there is a fantastic community in Ratheniska around them.

I would hope that the GAA have support structures in place to speak with and counsel Dinny's team mates at both Rathineska and with Laois. This will have a big impact on the people that knew him best and they will need guidance during this difficult time.
