Just when proposed boundary changes seem to be favouring nationalists, along come FF to split the vote and hand even more nationalist seats to gleeful unionists.Of course that's their aim,not to advance Irish nationalism, but to combat Sinn Fein.

Since Sinn Féin are an obstacle to nationalism, this may not be entirely a bad idea.

If I, now a lukewarm nationalist, wouldn't vote FF to save my life,I don't understand why the die hards would even consider it

I'm not convinced FF's centre right agenda will have any appeal to NI nationalists who traditionally lean to the left

Most northern nationalists and indeed unionists Vote on tribal lines .  Right or left has nothing to do with it .

Nigel White

All the nationalist parties are on the left.

Unless people stop trying to work out ways of getting other people's money and start working on ways to make more themselves there will be no United Ireland, so these people cannot call themselves nationalists in any meaningful sense.

All the nationalist parties are on the left.

If the Brits were Commies, the fior-Gaels would all lean to the right.

SDLP on the left? I don't think so.
And where would you place a party with the words Social and Labour in their title

Where would you put a party with Nationalist Socialist in their title?

Are we judging party leaning by their titles?

No, I'm just using it to reiterate the fact that the SDLP s a leftist party

Neither the shinners or stoops have ever been in a proper government so it is hard to say what they are really . Both do plenty of populist sound bites .
