GAAGO in Australia

The quality of live streaming has deteriorated a lot over the past two years. I have NBN and watching Kerry Dublin was a really frustrating experience with constant buffering and black screens...Telstra says it's the fault of GAAGO and vice versa
Any comments welcome

I don't watch any games live anymore...service not up to it.

They tidy up the feed on Mondays it seems, resulting in good presentations when games are viewed on demand.

My experience, in the US, has been that in earlier rounds, or with games that wouldn't attract a huge audience, the live streaming is OK if you set it to a medium resolution.  Watching Dublin, particularly in the bigger games, you might as well forget about it. Constant buffering/crashing. Too many viewers for their servers?  Not sure I'll buy it again next year, though it is good to have in order to  watch the games back (and the quality is usually good for the on-demand games).

Probably of little use to you giving you the name of another streaming service that works better but I've ranted about GaaGo for years as its simply not fit for purpose.

I got a full setup on an android box with an app called HDSubs that is around $300 per year for full package including SkySports, BBC, ITV(incl. iplayer, etc), sky movies, the list goes on. Its all ondemand as well which is good for watching the sunday game on a monday evening after work.  The other advantage being it's set up for kodi as well.

Going back the main point, go to the HDSubs website and download the app on any android device and get a free 3 day trial and check it for yourself.  Much more reliable in my service and if you are interested in the full package hit up techshop media on facebook for it.  They are english guys who specialise in getting UK tv abroad but it does include RTE 1 and 2 in HD.  I believe this works in any country.

I'm in brisbane and my download speed is only 6/7mbps but it runs fairly problem free

You'd forgive Gaa Go the glitches if it wasn't so expensive. I've cut back to only watching the bigger games because the pass is just mad money for an amateur game. But I wanted to see the minor and senior games on Sunday - 24 euro please. At least the stream worked reasonably well. Of course this whole venture is just about bringing the games to the diaspora, it's not about the cash at all.

It's been appalling over the past month in the US too. Donegal Dublin game was terrible. Yesterday's took the biscuit altogether. I will be voicing my complaints to them. For $200 a season it is not good enough. There is no excuse either - someone or other had been officially streaming GAA matches for more than ten years, so it's not new technology. When the stream isn't freezing or cutting off, it's broadcasting in low res. I missed three or four scores, amongst other stuff, in what is being hailed as one of the best games in recent years. I'll be seriously considering whether it will be worth forking out or not next year.

On demand failing me today!!!  Locked up two minutes before half time...did not resume in 10 minutes, so I switched it off.

The minor game did not buffer once, so it must be a demand issue.  It cut out at 7pm US East Coast time.

I have to say I watched Kerry Dublin yesterday with no problems whatsoever.  I do pay an extra $5 a month for multi power wireless and I have not had a problem all year.

I would suggest see who provides your wireless and see if they can boost it, I watched the game in Hi Def and it was absolutely perfect.  Trust me, I had my doubts about GAAGO at the beginning (even started a thread on it), but I must admit I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the picture since I boosted the download power.

I have one of those apple airport routers which works really well.  I actually stream from the router to my iPad to apple tv to my television - and it works a charm.
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

I watched it on Gaago in Wollongong.
Only had two minor issues but quality was fine for me. Missed the last few minutes of the Mayo-Tipp first half but haven't had many issues for any of the other games I have been watching (mostly Mayo games).

The only game prior to this weekend that I had trouble with was Mayo/Fermanagh.

Does not bode well for the final.

It's not an Internet/data issue for me at least. Plenty of speed, Netflix, Amazon Fire, HBO Go, Hulu etc all work great at all times. Only GAA Go seems to have a problem.

Thank you all for your helpful comments...at least now I know I'm not on my own!

Same here.  And same issues whether on the broadband at home or the 4g mobile service.

That's what gets me when I complain to Gaa Go, which I've done a couple of times. They act like it must be a problem on my end, yet I've never had a single problem with any other website or streaming service.

Exact same as that, paid for a few matches, paid well for them and it was brutal, constant buffering, v v low res, a horrible horrible waste of money, emailed them and got blah blah blah its at your end.
Netflix etc works fine so that excuse is bullshit.
I've been in the bush with decent 4g signal and was watched matches on wizywig with no bother, perfect res , no buffering once I got a good stream , and this was in the arsehole of Queensland , just south of Emerald!

I'll never use them again & as many people as will listen to me will be told the same.
