Like it or not NI is part of the U.K. because:

1.SF/SDLP recommended the Good Friday Agreement to us, and we voted hugely in favour.

2. The 26 county electorate,by in excess of 90%,accepted the Dublin Govt's recommendation and did
    likewise.

If you vote to be part of the U.K. you will be part of the U.K. with all the symbolism of the U.K.? Did anyone expect anything different when they voted? Surely not?

Oh right Tony thanks for setting us straight on that. What a crock of shit.

Are you saying that I'm not stating the truth? The GFA, endorsed electorally by nationalists North and South decrees that N Ireland remains under British rule?

imtommygunn

Did people vote like this to

a) have some chance of peaceful lives with an end to murders or

B) remain under british rule

Really what do you think?

T Fearon

People voted that N Ireland's constitutional status can only be changed by the majority consent of its people. That confirmed the acceptance of British Rule in the North, and in fact changed nothing,as this was the principle in play while the killings were going on.

As I said before it is akin to the British succumbing to Nazism in 1945 simply to save lives.

If you cede sovereignty for "peace" that is called surrender
no it isn't.  The land will always be Irish. Sovereignty can be reimposed. SNP want in. DUP want out. Very interesting

What did the British get that was 'ceded' by the Irish that they didn't have before?

Yes, quite.

Are the concentration camps in the north doing much of a trade these days? Or have they had to cut back on cremations because of pollution regulations?

T Fearon

In 1998 the British, for the first time ever, got free consent from All Ireland, that they should govern the North.Hence sovereignty was ceded,in the name of peace,or in other words surrendered.
