Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Henry moving on.

Eamon O'Shea was brought onto Henrys ticket in Galway, lives in Salthill, so he might get the step up.

Knows Galway hurling so probably well placed for the rebuild that needs to happen.

Galway GAA can confirm that Henry Shefflin is stepping down as the Galway Senior Hurling Manager after three years in charge.

Galway GAA Chairperson Paul Bellew stated,

"On behalf of Galway GAA, I want to place on record our sincere thanks to Henry for the leadership, energy and commitment he has given Galway hurling over the past three seasons. Henry has driven the highest standards possible during his tenure and left a lasting positive impact on our playing group and on Galway hurling. His mentality and will to win remains unmatched and the group will reap the benefits of this.
Henry has been outstanding to deal with over the last three years and this is reflected in the esteem he is held in by our players, supporters and all involved in Galway GAA.
We also want to thank and acknowledge the massive contribution of Richie O'Neill, Damien Joyce, Kevin Lally and Eamon O'Shea and the wider background team for their efforts during Henry's term."

A process to appoint the next Galway Senior Hurling Manager will be put in place shortly and further communication will be issued then.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Always think of Eamon O'Shea as more of a 'side kick' than first in command.

Maybe Jeff Lynskey would be a good shout.

Kildare are on the hunt now. Lots of things in play but can any Rossie here say if Burke is wanted?

Is Mickey staying with Derry or would Malachy O'Rourke be coming in?

And are there any coaches that could step up...what is Donaghy like in that sense.

Lots of questions but just looking for any native info.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

It was a very controversial appointment last year and Harte has done himself no favours with the Derry support in the interim. Went flat out to win McKenna cup and league and basically flogged the sane 13-14 players for all competitions. Tactically inept for Donegal then compounded the misery by doubling down v Galway and Armagh. Threw the players under a bus when he claimed post match that there was something wrong mentally with the players. He won't walk and our co board haven't the balls to sack him. A player heave looks like the only way he will go though as their careers are short. However, to do that, you need to have a better option lined up. The return of Gallagher would be controversial but welcomed by the players. Malachy o'rourke is with Glen for another season. He's probably the stand out candidate but the token approach by Derry last year to him may rule him out. Hard to know if he's even interested in going back into county management. Tyrone would move quickly for him if Dooher stepped down.

I would have thought Mickey would be getting road to be honest after all the rumblings.
Again, reckoned the same about Roscommon but there are not many decent lads floating.

Like the Dubs are on the hunt too. They usually keep it in-house but maybe Gilroy just steps back in...

Some, but only supporters as opposed to decision makers , want Davy ran to fk.
Most think he should be kept for his full 3 year term.

The players seem happy with him but it's a very close camp.
You never hear anything from them.
One parent was telling me in Omagh that their lad won't even tell them where they might be staying over night for away games.
He told them in the middle of the day after they stayed in Armagh  ;D

He needs to get an experience coach ,or 2, in and listen to them.

Edit, I see Kildare's other u20s winning manager Brian Flanagan favoured for their Senior role.

What about Tyrone? Will Dooher and Logan get another campaign?

I don't think they'll want it given Doohers work commitments now and Logans health. Probably is time for change there looking in.

Was Tyrone ever managed by a non Tyrone man before?  After his success with the U20s Paul Devlin will likely be the next Tyrone senior manager.

Yes John Donnelly from Coa in Fermanagh managed Tyrone in the 90's.
He was the first Tyrone manager Peter Canavan played under at senior level
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

True though Donnelly was emeshed in Tyrone football for years - won 5 senior championships with Trillick in the '70s and '80s, managed Trillick and played for Tyrone Masters.

the goal was on

i suspect there will no changes in management in both derry and tyrone.
