Have lived in Westmeath for a god few years and have been involved in a couple of clubs.
They do a huge amount of things right (take Leinster schools football ...... 24 clubs take part in the A-championship - 6 from Dublin but 5 from Westmeath and no other county with more than 2) and imo it has been a confidence thing, historical baggage, etc etc that means the average Westmeath person has a negative outlook on all things football..... when they got promoted to Div 1 it was a case of we'll be down again next year. Same at the start of this year.
Beating Meath has done wonders to address this and the Dublin result won't actually change that a huge amount.

Kildare had 3(Athy, Newbridge and Maynooth) this year, 3 1/2 if you include Edenderry (roughly half their squad or more are from Kildare clubs). Salesian, Celbridge and Naas CBS move up and down between A & B. Rathangan also won the AI B this year.

Westmeath gave Mayo a trimming this morning . Sligo for Nestor and Westmeath for Delaney ?

Your info couldn't be more wrong, unfortunately

Armagh back to their normal style of Play then, pity they couldn't do it when it mattered against Donegal a few weeks back. And friendly or not the ref could issued a few reds if men were getting noses broke, some friendly

Not a regular starter, Davy Byrne

There's both a Davy Byrne and a David Byrne around the Dubs panel.

Davy is from the northside while David is from the southside I presume ? :P

Westmeath clubs are not the only providers to those 5 schools though. Only Col Mhuire Mullingar would be 100% Westmeath lads. Still though it's a valid point that all young lads in the county are playing Leinster A Schools. Just as well as our underage setup isn't the most organised by a long way.

Is this the biggest David v Goliath provincial final in the GAA since Leitrim in 1994?

Mayo v London 2013 probably, and that was on Goliaths home turf too.

This bunch of Dublin players are ruthless.  They have to be.  With such a big squad of quality players all pushing for a starting jersey, if you don't put in a performance, you'll be replaced.  You'd fear for Westmeath this weekend

Croí na hÉireann

They'll have a bit of support anyway, rumoured to be 20k heading up, that's a quarter of the county. You'd need near 4 Croke Parks to hold a quarter of Dublins.
