Would love to get some new games, to save having the telly on. Any recommended board games?

Cranium is good - it combines charades, pictionary, quiz questions and a couple of other games

Not a board game but find jenga usually entertains them for a while

Monopoly cards. Nothing like Monopoly and hard to explain but great craic and really addictive when you pick it up.

Articulate and Cranium also very good.

Currently play a lot of Forbidden Island of you want a co-operative game that needs a little thought or Ticket to Ride if you don't fancy co-operative. Absolutely addicted to Ticket to Ride currently have most of the expansions and play it at least once a week.

Wee simple game we got last year.  Adults can play with a few drinks and even for a couple of quid.  But it's great to play with the kids as well.  Pass the pigs.  The pigs are used like dice and you get different points for the way they land.  If a casino introduces it I swear I will clean them out!
