No 3rd level players allowed to play midweek and players only allowed to play 1 game in competition so he had to balance his team.

Aye. That game wasn't held midweek. It was on at the weekend. 😂

Idea of McKenna Cup is to balance getting players ready for the league and trying to source new players for the league & Championship.

I would say Lav has a pretty decent idea of what his starting XV will be vs Clare and the lads will be ready to go.

I wouldn't discount anyone based on that performance but I don't think anyone really stood up and made a case for breaking into the expected team anyway. Thought Crimmins put in a good shift, McPolin & Brooks have potential but didn't convince me they're ready starters.


Wanna see more of Loughrin & Brown in FF line. Loughrin started brightly with 2 moves scores but hardly touched ball after.

Following a meeting of Ulster CCC, reported breaches of Pre Season 3rd Level Policy & Regulations were reviewed, and the following decisions taken in relation to the fielding of ineligible players:

The Fermanagh v Cavan game is null and void and no team is awarded the points.

The Armagh v Down game is awarded to Down.

That was a disappointing pre-season, we did not get any new blood and it will be back to the same old faces to get us back up the divisions.

Down GAA need to back Saval tonight and become a leader within the organisation. All delegates and county officers should be supporting this. I hope that everyone in the club has had an opportunity to cast a vote on this issue.
