Down's best performance for years; were the better team for 60 mins, just couldn't drive on when we'd gone 4 pts ahead. Hard to blame the ref for the Monaghan goal; officials don't have slow motion replays. Breaching the 3-man rule was worse; we were on a promising attack, and against Beggan that's a 3pt turn around. Surely at least one of the management team could be in charge of policing the players to avoid such a crucial mistake.

I thought we would be paired with Galway for this game. Galway are serious team, are beaten all ireland finalists twice in recent years and will believe they have a divine right to win the championship outright so they will be hot favourites.

On the other hand our boys will be very determined to build on current form and fix were they went wrong yesterday.

Looking forward to it...hon down

IMO the goalkeeper/deepest defender is in charge of passing the information up the line to who has to hold there position on the line. At least that is how our club does it

Why would they believe they have a divine right to win championship outright?

The ball was played back to a Down man just outside the arc, so could have been a potential 4 point swing. Thought Down played very well and would be dangerous if made Croke Park with their running game. Where I think they are a bit short is the depth of the squad. I think they will give Galway a real game in Newry but will expect Galway to finish the game stronger.

has anyone logged in to Ticketmaster? I went online at 11:10am and there was no option for seated tickets. Surely 6000 tickets didn't sell out in ten minutes. Did Ticketmaster even have those tickets, or did they always only have standing?

I logged in before that, and it was the same. And since then I've got to the front of the queue 3 times, and each time I get a message telling me to "Select from the events listed....", only there are no events listed on that page.

Shambles.

Stand sold out, not sure how those thousands of tickets were sold when there was no way to purchase them at 11am????

I would say the season tickets, player and sponsor tickets have taken a large chunk of the seated tickets.

I went to Supervalue in Newry. They said that they were selecting the tickets and hitting refresh, over and over. every ten minutes or so tickets would be available to purchase and then disappear again for about another ten minutes. Anyway couldn't get what I needed so had to get terrace instead. Disappointed because the nephew is fairly short and will struggle to see anything.

I think the stand tickets 1st preference to season tickets and the clubs in both counties. Thry put them on General admission hence why stand in Newry and Armagh wast full b4 throw in last weekend.

Great article, highlights Murdock, Havern and Magill but Burns has has been immense as well, having someone able to find a man from a kickout under pressure has made such a difference. Regardless of the result this weekend I feel there's a real base there to progress. Hopefully Kerr is back next year too, with his running game he would fit right in.

Daniel Guinness I would include among them 4 lads too. He's having a fantastic season. I'd like to see Eugene Brannigan start tomorrow too, I think he is effective bringing the ball from defence into our attacking half.
