He was an assistant to O'Mahony in Galway's glory days - 98 to 01 and that.

He managed Tuam Stars.

Was rumoured to be in the running for the Mayo job before a young capped lad from Ballintubber was chosen.

Managed Davitts of Mayo to an All Ireland intermediate club final which they lost to Milltown Castlemaine of Kerry in 2012 as well.

Only 2 nominations it seems - Walsh and Pete Warren.

I don't know much about Pete Warren - who has he managed previously? I've heard the name but can't place him.

Selector under O'Mahony. Managed Davitts in Mayo fairly recently as well. Think they won intermediate in Mayo under him. Managed Caherlistrane in Galway as well.

Besides the Sligo job, what other management jobs has Walsh had? I seem to rmember he had a junior team in Galway before coming to us.

galwayman

I think he was over the Aran Islands (junior A level) 4 or 5 years ago but I'm not 100% sure on this.

I believe Warren's doing a turn in some capacity with Padraig Pearses these days.

Peter Warren? They've been cooing about him a bit, alright. Would be more worried of Galway with Warren than Walsh.

An Fhairche Abu

Pete Warren has withdrawn from the selection process prior to the interviews taking place, looks like it's a done deal for Kevin Walsh to be the next Galway football manager at this point.
