Reregistering a vehicle

Anyone know how i go about this? I been trying to find some info online but nothing really concrete. Im buying a car in scotland but want to register it with NI number plate. Do i tax the car first with this number plate or wait until i re register?

You send all forms in at the same time Tyrone Girl and they tax the car and send you out the cert for the new number plate so you can get them made

I wanna tax it by direct debit so i presume this is the same?

I’ve a feeling when it’s a new car or a first registration you cannot pay it by DD at the start, you pay the first 6 months up front and then you can re-tax by DD.

You can re-register the car online and print out the documents before putting on the new plates.  Very simple.
