Has he mentioned Parnells situation in his podcast? 🤔

Incredible stuff. The Marists have made off like bandits.

What club is Cluxton being listed as from in programmes these days?

The numbers being talked about there are absolutely insane. 1.2 million a year in salaries in a Gaa club... nuts.

Just read that report on RTÉ but must watch the Prime Time on it.

Crazy stuff. Seems the GAA HQ are taking a bit of flack over it but hardly their fault. Only thing was they could have stepped in earlier.

The wage bill from 1 year to the next is staggering. Cluxton even wrote a letter to club members saying why he dropped down a playing grade.

Hopefully Pobal Parnells get running again properly and provide a playing outlet etc. for the people of Coolock.

A simple transfer of wealth, when milked the great and the good take their leave, like a vulture fund

In terms of the mercenaries (county players) they brought on board it must have been one big gravy train.

Yeah obviously not privy to any more detail but the flak HQ is getting surprises me as well, albeit as a major creditor of the club, seems like there was plenty of opportunity for people to step in.

At the very least, feels like something could have been done to stop the Marists getting the land back for free to go with the 11m they got 15 years ago. While the club was in breach of contract, surprised there's no pressure on the church over it

It's actually mad how many people don't understand that the clubs are individual units and think Croke Park manages everything.

Id someone in work saying clubs shouldn't be taking out loans and thought the GAA was amateur...
As in why would they need to any money like that. I had to point out capital projects and running the club.
Eventually they admitted their tennis club is run the same way.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Croke Park would step in immediately if the astro was rented to a soccer club. The DCB were part of the deal and would have been fully aware of the failings.

But Croke Park should have asked why the club had 69 full time staff. Do Leinster rugby have that many?

That is a wild read! :o

Like the proverbial tale of a lottery winner completely losing their senses and ending up in serious debt.

What does the GAA do to prevent this though?

And who the hell is the player who was claiming travel expenses from Parnells to go train with their senior county team down (or up) the country?

The 22m euro question.

If a club goes that mental can, or should, Croke Park step in?

To me the fact the Dublin County Board were materially involved in the Chanel deal points to somone in a blazer deciding an eye needed to be kept. For all the use it did.

Did some research. The IRFU currently have 345 non playing staff. The FAI had 251 in 2023. Shamrock Rovers had 22 in 2022. What in the name of sweet Mary and the orphans were those 69 staff doing? That is something Croker/DCB should have been all over. €22.5k a week is a mid sized LoI club budget

I found it mad how those involved in the club who came on were like 'fair enough' on travel expenses. Is that a thing in Dublin clubs?!
Like back home the students would get train or bus fares sometimes if they had to be home midweek, but aisde from that.

And there seems to be a case that they were using fuel cards and expenses when going county training, which they would have claimed mileage for anyway!

They look to be keeping it together on the playing field.
Men's team in Division 2 and ladies in Division 1
