It's crazy the amount of money sloshing around in Dublin GAA clubs all the same!

Captain Scarlet

I think the Dubs kinda made it more middle class and then there are serious sponsorship deals and donors about.

Like some clubs are probably getting more than counties.

That aside it needs to be managed. It's mad how Parnells made such a mess of it.

I'd like to see their expenses in the boom times...
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Be ideal for Cuala to move in?

They have no facilities in Dalkey!

They could all take Daddy's chopper over to Artane!

Feels like it should be a bigger story than it appears to be. An all time, Tier 1 catastrophe story of mismanagement within the GAA. Given the Revenue cases at the minute, the need for greater regular and oversight is plain to see.

There was a credit union up in that part of the world that suffered from similar incompetence during the boom times when the numbers involved became ever more eye watering. The more professional things become, the more professional management is required.

This problem was raised 10 years ago and nothing was done.
People in working class areas are not as savvy with managing money, which explains why the FAI always squanders any cash until it's in ruins.

What?

It's hard to beat the sweeping statements.

Not everyone can be as savy as Tipp legend Michael Lowry when it comes to the old finances and envelopes!

Shamrock Shore

'Cuala for Coolock' has a ring, in fairness!

Look-Up!

Aye, who could forgot the pesky working classes cowping the economy post-tiger...

Basically have to do a Rangers. As it stands they've no insurance. Can't train, can't play. Apparently they'd been set up as a limited company since the late 70s which seems mad.

Tubberman

the indo podcast said Parnells was set up as a limited company from the start, which would be very unusual.
Not sure why that was the case, but you'd think the fact a limited company has to file accounts, have shareholders etc would mean they'd have better controls and oversight than other clubs but obviously not!
