The media can print any oul sh1te they like about Armagh now as the Armagh CB won't talk to them to correct the position ::)
That's what ye get for immaturity.

Posters like Yellowcard who seem to believe that senior people in the Armagh camp do not talk to journalists must live in a very naive world. The report in this morning's paper was pretty clearly based on a detailed briefing and there has not been a word of denial from anyone during the course of the day. It is doubtful if it will have the slightest effect on the players, who know what is happening anyway, and it will be worth waiting for what Grimley says on the record whenever his season ends.

As I said earlier, it is fairly common knowledge that Grimley will be stepping down at the end of the season so it's not exactly news worthy headlines. However the timing of the article is notable, 3 days before a big championship game. How can you claim it was based on a detailed briefing from within the Armagh camp, pure guesswork. I never once stated that it wasn't true, in fact most people could have predicted it at the start of the campaign anyway.

Yellowcard, although you now say you never said the report was not true, your previous post described it as a `load of balls'. People in the Armagh camp know what is happening, which is why there is not been a hint of a denial even after the story was picked up by the broadcasters during the day. You should wait and see what Grimley has to say publicly when the time is right.

This is a revamp if an old story. A couple of months ago Paul Grimley said he felt that this would be his last year and that a member of the 2002 squad should take over. He said he thought McGeeney was perfect for the job. The timing of the article appears to continue an agenda the paper seems to have with Armagh. It is a load so balls because no matter what happens the clubs will decide who the next manager is. That will not happen for a while yet. You do not need a private briefing or a mole on the inside to know this.

One of these men will be Tyrone's next manger.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Fuzzman

Not sure what a manger is?
Is it where Canavan was born?

I heard Brollys ma told Joe to throw his hat into the ring.

Is it not pretty obvious in the way Armagh are set up that Mc Geeney is already de facto the manager? He barks out tge instructions from the sideline , runs in to pitch etc

LCohen

Sources close to a former kildare manager planted the story to tap into the post tyrone euphoria. Growing sense in Armagh that the recent revival is linked to to the messiah's return. The article was timely alright

Grimley has always done what he deemed the best for Armagh football.(yes sometimes he was proven wrong eg lynch) He has managed to unite a county divided which bitching wise was beccoming the next derry  between north and south for 10 years. He more than most took me geeney home. A glorious future beckons.
