Monaghan defending well, but getting nothing out of long balls to double/triple marked forwards. That last point was an excellent turnover followed by a dodgy free. Donegal better balanced.

Exciting isn't the word I'd use.

Monaghan are brainless at times, kicking long balls in on their single forward with four or five Jimmies around him. Basically just throwing possession away. Even hand-passing it around the 45 is better than that craic.

This is grim stuff, but delighted to see us at least competing with them after last season's surrender. Ref would want to get a grip of things, but I guess there's only so much he can do. We were lucky with the foot block. Wonder what happened to Murphy? The Donegal players were pointing at the corner back.
