Use the ball or lose your life.

Plenty of ground football, no soloing, no bouncing just let it long and if that doesn't work just let in long....

I'd say it was genuinely brilliant to watch.

Funny how the British Pathe commentator says much the same stuff in 1935 as we hear today.

Yea 79 years later Kildare still dominate possession and still can't put the ball over the bar. Could do with some of those defenders now, ball/head as long it was round it was getting kicked.

That's brilliant. One of the Mayo lads gets an absolute me feiner there at 1:16. Typical Kildare Robots.

Great auld action though. Manic stuff.

Shamrock Shore

Who out the helium into the football?
It seems to have a life of its own.

If we put Benny Hill music to it then it would look better!

The stadium looks different without the stands.

Definetly pre land commission, such was the agressive/dirty play by Mayo, It was like watching Meath 1n 80's and 90's.

I'm guessing that that as Gerard Courell. Am I right?

This was back when Kildare were primarily powered by steam.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Dont Matter

With todays standards in mind I counted 4 black card incidents, 10 red card incidents and 6 yellow card incidents. 2 of the yellows should have been blacks however.

They had no Landrovers back then and thus no need for gym membership. It was all honest to goodness farm work.
