Is it about time we grew up and stopped gloating about England's misfortunes?

Some hilarious comments on this thread!

I'm with BennyHarp, except that I would like to see England win because some of the players deserve it. I've learned to ignore the press. Plus, I'd rather see England win than OWC. I work with a few OWCers and all they want to talk about is England.

OWCer: "Did you see the match yesterday?"

Orior: "Absa-bloody-lutely. It was a cracker wasnt it? But they deserved to loose. I mean everytime Cavanagh was fouled he was actually pulling the Farney man's arm down on top of him."

OWCer: "Oh... er... emm... yeah"
Two things.  Firstly, the majority of Northern Ireland fans would like to see England get beaten.  Secondly, would you really rather England won than a team from Ireland?

No, I have no interest in supporting the soccer team that respresents the occupied six counties. So they can fly their union jacks, sing their gstq and billy boys songs. I couldn't give a toss.

they sing songs about Billy Sheehan? Is this because he knows the words to GSTQ?

Seriously, the occupied shite has never been less true. Britain would dearly love the north to decide to join the rest of the island, it's costing them money supporting it.

Your 'enemies' now are your fellow Irishmen and women, no one else.

At this stage I hope England slip through to the next round. Be great to see them hammered by a big side. They are rank.  ;D

It's the idea that the Brits would like to be shot of Northern Ireland that I always find strange. My wife will often say that in discussions about politics, but cast it in terms of surrendering to the IRA and she'd wrap herself in the butcher's apron faster than you could make the croppies lie down.

It eventually will come down to simple economics, no matter the politics here, on a west minister level NI is nothing but a headache that costs them billions every year. If Scotland votes Yes, it will only be a matter of time before some shift occurs.

Wont be in the shape of wrapped up in a bow and handed back to Dublin but will more likely to be increased independence with an ever decreasing level of support.
