I have seen bits from most of these as well. About 25 of them I've watched from start to finish. There are a number of them that will never want to watch.
Hard to believe some of them films won despite being up against (in my opinion) much better films:

Four from 14! Is there anything there I really must see? Heading to Donegal here for a few days and will bring a couple along if they're recommended!

Truth be told wouldn't recommend any of them.

Watchable are Gladiator and Departed.

Most of the rest are downright awful imvho.

Looking at the list of Oscar winners since 1972 there are some awful films listed. (S. in Love, English Patient, Annie Hall and Out of Africa in particular all robbed me of valuable time I will never retrieve).

As for De Niro films, I avoid them like the plague. Pulling the same faces in every movie don't make you an actor.

Watched Sleepers again the other night (I think ITV3 have shown it at least once a week for the last month)... great film!!

I'd concur with that but Midnight Run is comic genius.
