And a mouthpiece of a keeper M**th keeper Paddy O'Rourke on Twitter:
"Diarmuid Connolly letting loose today before he gets locked up"

Surely that didn't happen. It has to be a wind up – doesn't it?

Same person? Not on his twitter and no posts even remotely of that mould on it...

Down palyed Meath in the league in 2010 in Newry, we won 0-12 to  0-8. We played in 2006, Again Down won 0-15 to 1-8. And we played in 2003 in Newcastle, Down won 0-15 to 1-11.

I am not sure where the 2006 game was played, but I suspect it was Newry.

But I think I remember going to a league match around the early nineties down in Navan, but can't be sure.

If you were any use you'd be playing.

Dan McCartan, Brendan McArdle & Owen Costello.

Keep these guys scoreless and you'll steamroller us.

Hey Down folk, who are your main scoring threats?

I'd say their main scoring threat is our defence.

Aristo 60

Conor McManus, Monaghan 0-28 (28)
Donal O'Hare, Down 1-24 (27)
Michael Newman, Meath 3-17 (26)

Colm McFadden, Donegal 3-14 (23)
Jack McCarron, Monaghan 0-23 (23)
Michael Murphy, Donegal 0-20 (20)
Jamie Clarke, Armagh 0-19 (19)
Ross Munnelly, Laois 2-11 (17)

In last years league we had a somewhat similar upward curve after a shaky start.

Given the way we are playing, I get the feeling we are going to have plenty of possession chances to win this game but we might struggle to make them count.

We are that sort of team at the minute, that are full of energy and work but find it hard to really finish teams off. Despite what people say we have a decent bunch of defenders, but it seems to go wrong when we try moving it forward out of defense and we give it away in dangerous positions.

So many times especially when the game was close we gave it away too easily.

Micky Burke is a doubt after pulling the hamstring against Down in the hurling last weekend.

Shame if he is, he's played quite well the last few games and seems to have a bit more of a smarter approach to his game, not getting caught out of position so much.

Interesting fact. Meath need to beat down by more than 25 points to lep above them.

13 points, not 25.

If Meath were to beat Down and one of Monaghan/Donegal lost (unlikely but you never know), it would leave Meath still in with a chance of promotion on the last day of games. I think Meath will find it difficult to beat Down though. In terms of a team, I heard Mickey Burke is definitely out and the u21s are being rested. Graham Reilly apparently back in the starting team.
