Two players who are not included are Russian hard-man Sendimov, who will be serving a three-month suspension, and the hard-working Mexican midfielder, Manuel Labor.

There is no place in the Dutch squad for lesbian tranny, Dick van Dyke. The young Dutch star Per Vert has been excluded from the squad, after he was discovered in the back streets of Amsterdam with his finger in a d*ke.

Pere Vert has been named as chaplain to the French team. What they don't know is that he's an Irish priest on the run who used to go by the name of Father Greene.

Spain's Provisional 30 man squad (I reckon Torres got in at no 30!).  Maybe a wee bit light in the forwards??

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, Pepe Reina, David de Gea.

Defenders: Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique, Raul Albiol, Juanfran, Jordi Alba, Daniel Carvajal, Alberto Moreno, Cesar Azpilicueta, Javi Martinez.

Midfielders: Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta, Koke, Busquets, Cazorla, Iturraspe, Fabregas, Thiago, Mata, Silva.

Forwards: Pedro, Navas, Diego Costa, Villa, Torres, Negredo, Llorente.

The folks in italics are my guesses as to who'll be left at home - any views?

Thiago out of squad. injured Thursday. I think Villa has a chance to go ahead of llorente who is probably too similar to Costa.

France playing Norway on btsports at the moment. Looking good so far, 1-0 up through Pogba who looks very good. Sahko is playing.

Looking through the odds for the world cup, brazil at 3/1 is very short but I'm thinking Sergio Aguero top goalscorer and Brazil to win it at 66/1 is surely worth a couple of quid.

What price are les bleus? 4-0 up and looking quite good.

They are 22/1 outright.. Should make it out of the group for a start anyways

Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon

Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia

Group C: Colombia, Greece, Côte d'Ivoire, Japan

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras

Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, Nigeria

Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA

Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Korea Republic

Scotland beating Nigeria 2-1 at the moment on BBC 1 Scotland. They should be penalised a couple of goals for wearing the worst kit I've seen in years. Nigeria not looking great.

I'm always interested in how the USA are coming along.

Considering how their team in the Italia 90 WC were half amateur they have come on quite a bit.

They have Jurgen Klinsmann managing them now. He's brought in a few German born players like Julian Green and dropping Landon Donovan.

They certainly approach the game much differently than European or South Americans. Probably wont happen this year as they are in a very tough group but you get the feeling they'll eventually have a major breakthrough.

And of course they made a movie about it:

It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

magpie seanie

Massive question marks over the 3 Spanish forwards. Pretty handy midfield though.

Haven't they made the QFs before? Beyond being extremely fortunate that's probably the extent of their potential this year or in any year.
