When his wife Imelda was diagnosed with cancer the couple hosted charity auctions to raise money for the Christie cancer hospital in Manchester and other such institutions. She died in 2023, and he is survived by their twin sons.

Mani was a proper talent and seemed like a decent guy, despite the fame.
I'd say he burned the candle at both ends! He looked a bit shaken.

RIP. Talented family. His brother Mick, a fine singer-songwriter, wrote Past the Point of Rescue.

He had very distinctive voice. Before we always on media, usually it was his voice in the morning time that delivered whatever news was unfolding - atrocities in the north, bad economic news, global turmoil.
