Quote from: Shamrock Shore on April 02, 2025, 05:46:53 AMHad it tough last few years.

I remember seeing Top Secret in 1984 and almost getting sick in the cinema with the laughter. Airplane/Naked Gun humour. Which I love.

Feck Top Gun shite.

RIP

Absolutely,  although I thought he was excellent in Heat and Tombstone too.  Had it it my head he was in Young Guns as well, but maybe I'm wrong.  Anyway,  sad to see he's gone, always came across as one of the good guys.

He did Billy the Kid, which might solve the confusion.

Cheers, it was Kiefer Sutherland I had him mixed up with.
Liked all those films at the time.  I suppose we don't see or recognise pop culture as it's happening when we are growing up, but when you look back it was a great time for film, music,  even sport.
Current teenagers will probably look back at now thinking something similar when they're at midlife.  It'll just look very different.

RIP Micko. If not a thread of his own, I at least hope he gets more comments on here than Val Kilmer  ::)

A great footballer, a great manager, but moreover a great man. We played Kildare in a friendly when he was over them and we drew,  he came into the changing afterwards and gave an oration about how to play football and the beauty of it that I've never heard the like of and then sat for a good hour after it exchanging tales over tea with us. A rotten wet windy day in Celbridge and he had time for everyone.

RIP Micko
