Saddened to see this.  Once David Jason goes, it will feel like the end of an era.  Even though they might be classed as harmless and repetitive, I still enjoy watching 70s and 80s sitcoms such as Last of the Summer Wine or Keeping up appearances, and Porridge,  Open all hours, Only Fools, The Young Ones, Bottom, Blackadder, up to Black Books and Fr Ted.  Sometimes I'd look at the cast from google,  and then it hits you how many are gone, same with the likes of Police Academy.  It just feels like you've lost a link to your childhood each time one passes.

I think she had yeah. 96 was a good life. Geoffrey Hughes - Onslow went at 68.

Manchán embodied everything  that was good about Ireland. His programs and books  inspired me to  delve into  our nature, language, folklore and the  landscape . He had so much more to give , so many more  books  to write, and many  more stories to tell.  I could have listened to him  speaking  for hours.

He is such a sad  loss to this country.

That's well written and all so true. The child got given his book Tree Dogs, Banshee Fingers and Other Irish Words for Nature and loved it.

Sad sad news.

Shamrock Shore

John Lodge. The Moody Blues.

Only Justin Hayward left now, if I recall correctly, from the classic/original line up.

Tony Baloney

Ian Watkins of Lostprophets. Sadly killed in prison.

Capt Pat

Also a notorious paedophile. I assume that"sadly" is sarcasm.

Correct assumption. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did
