The Real Laoislad

Big game in Newbridge next week.Laois will be missing Brendan Quigley after his sending off in our comfortable win over Armagh.
Kildare are doing well this year and it's gonna be a tough game for us
I was very impressed with the way Laois moved the ball yesterday and how they stood up to Armagh when it got a bit rough, and maybe we have turned the corner.Beano was excellent and looks to be the player he was before his leg break,Micheal John Tierney is also playing some great football and i think in him we finally have someone to take frees,Munneally is very unreliable in that department
I fancy Laois but then i would say that

You'll Never Walk Alone.

Laois have recalled former All-Star netminder to their starting XV for Sunday's Allianz National Football League Division 1B clash with Kildare in Newbridge.

O'Moore County manager Liam Kearns has made four changes in all with Byron talking the place of Michael Nolan between the posts.

Ross Munnelly's return to the side will be welcomed by the Laois support and the number 13 comes in at the expense of Michael John Tierney.

Chris Bergin and Billy Sheehan are the other two new faces from the win over Armagh last weekend, while David Murphy and the suspended Brendan Quigley lose out.

LAOIS: F Byron; P McMahon, C Ryan, J Higgins; P O'Leary, D Rooney, B McCormack; P Clancy, N Garvan; C Bergin, C Conway, B Sheehan; R Munnelly, P Lawlor, B McDonald.

It's on deferred after the 2 hurling games on Tg4.

Even if RTE wanted to show the game they couldn't.  They don't have the rights to show live NFL games.

Oh right didn't know that...

Kildare progress to the semi-final stage of the NFL following an epic 0-15 to 1-12 Division 1B draw with Leinster rivals Laois at Newbridge.

This is the second successive season that the provincial rivals finished all square in a vital encounter in the last round of the league; this time the result means the Short Grass County progress to a semi-final meeting with Donegal, while Laois miss out.

Both counties will be in Division One next year.

Kildare stormed into an early 0-3 to 0-1 advantage. Padraig O'Neill opened the scoring and Beano McDonald replied. Ken Donnelly and Kevin O'Neill were on hand to clip over lovely scores to send the Lilywhites two clear.

Colin Parkinson hit a goal for Laois to make it 1-2 to 0-3 on 17 minutes.

Chris Conway added a Laois point and then traded scores with Donnelly. John Doyle landed two exquisite Kildare points to level it.

McDonald and James Kavanagh also swapped points and Padraig Clancy raided up from midfield to give the O'Moore men a one-point advantage with the interval approaching.

However, the hosts had the final say of the first half and points from wing back Emmet Bolton and Tadgh Fennin gave them a slender 0-9 to 1-5 interval lead.

Full forward Paul Lawlor was causing Kildare all sorts of problems and he hit the O'Moore County's first three points of the second half, while Fennin (free) and Doyle were also on target for Kildare.

With stalemate in place for the seventh time, Lawlor then set up Barry Brennan for the point that made it 1-9 to 0-11 to Laois.

The sides were level a total of eleven times during the course of an epic encounter. Fennin's third point and one from Mark Gogarty put the home side back in front.

Beano got Laois' last three points while Doyle grabbed two more for Kildare, who progress to the semi-final. Their Leinster rivals are unlucky to miss out.

Great game yesterday. Some great moments of skill and not one dirty tackle in the whole game.
Disapointed we didn't get the win but Kildare were brilliant yesterday they never stopped going and never gave Laois any room.
John Doyle and Beano scored some great points
Thought we should/could have won it at the end but missed some good chances especially Conway
A lot to look forward to from a Laois point of view,a good few players to come back from injury,U21's and suspensions and some good squad players who are ready to step in if needed
Best of luck to Kildare against Donegal
