Tyrone will beat Derry because they sort of have to. Will not be easy by any means. See ye all there!

I think it would be unfair to start the 3 lads in Sigerson action midweek on Saturday evening. Therefore I'd go with the following side:

1. Morgan
2. Quinn
3. McCarron
4. A Clarke
5. McKernan
6. Burns
7. D Jones
8. Kennedy
9. Kilpatrick
10. Oguz
11. McElholm
12. M Donnelly
13. D Canavan
14. McGarrity
15. Jordan

After last week we simply have to be playing Rory Brennan at centre half back. Only player with the positional sense and discipline to hold the centre.

McGarrity becomes a better player on here the less he plays.

I didn't think he did that all well last year at 6, think he might be more suited in the corner these days. Think Burns is better in that position and I'd also be looking at playing Teague there when he returns.

I don't think anyone thinks he's the player you think they do. The reality is he's the only forward on our panel with the profile to play inside as a ball winning target man who the the likes of Canavan, McCurry and Jordan need to feed off.

I certainly think he's a better option than Mattie Donnelly at 14 and deserves a run of games there.

Hard to even pick a 15

As said before Ronan Cassidy, Conor O'Neill and Joey Clarke are key men for Queens tonight. It would be unfair to start any of them on Saturday
McKernan looked concussed last week. I don't think he should have been allowed to continue. Lets see if hes available a week later!

Equally after Saturdays game Malachy alluded to us having a few more men available for this week.
Im hoping he was referring to Hampsey, Teague, Jones

Jones? Hes been about the panel for years, can he make an impact at county level?

Certainly wasnt on the panel last year. Caught my eye just in the club championship.

I haven't seen what you're seeing from his performances at club level but happy to be proved wrong if he gets a chance and takes it. He's been knocking around the squad for a few years now without making any headway really.

He is also just turning 23 this year and never got a consistent run of games for one reason or another. Generally mid 20s is when players being establishing themselves at this level. Certainly worth giving a run of games to see can he be an option. Him switching between 11 and inside with McElholm has potential on paper and could help on our own kickouts as well.

All of Tyrones better performances last year (Armagh, Donegal, Dublin) came with Brennan at 6. Noticeably wasn't there against Kerry and was an obvious loss. Same again with Kildare, Tyrone were very obviously missing someone who could hold the centre of the defence.

I think you're imagining what I've seen or what I've said on McGarrity. I believe we have much better forwards in the county than McGarrity but we need a 6ft plus ball winner in the full forward line. I don't think there are many options of that profile. I'd love it we had a Clifford or Shane McGuigan or Murphy or Comer or someone of that ilk available to us but the best version we have is McGarrity IMO.

Who do you think it is?

I completely agree that we need someone to hold the centre of defence and McKernan certainly is much better at wing back but I don't think Brennan played well last year in that role either last year. Dublin ran through the middle plenty of times against us at Croke Park but we're wasteful.

I did rate Brennan but I think he was poor last year and seemed to find it hard to see out games where he was gassing badly in the second half.
