It's v difficult to pick a team that will start v Kildare. Orourke be keen to get a few returning injured lads game time plus rewarding a few lads who have done well. Think the first number of games will be difficult but by end of league hopefully we will see where we are at

Dire Ear

Mckernan no6, Teague no3, Devlin no2, Matty no13, McCurry no11, Darragh, Jordan, Conroy,  the rest are easy

Think we saw from last year that McKernan can't play at 6 at this level, too attacking and leaves the centre exposed. Nailed on number 5. Likewise Teague's best football last year came in the half back line. Don't see McCurry playing anywhere except 13.

Team I would like to see V Kildare: (Considering asbsences of Hampsey, McElholm, Canavans, Daly, McGeary, Devlin, McGarrity)
1. Niall Morgan
2. Cormac Quinn
3. Peter Teague
4. Aidan Clarke
5. Michael McKernan
6. Rory Brennan
7. Seanie O'Donnell
8. Brian Kennedy
9. Conn Kilpatrick
10. Matthew McGleenan
11. Cathal Donaghy
12. Joe Oguz
13. Darren McCurry
14. Mattie Donnelly
15. Michael Conroy

Is Teague available. I'd more or less go same. I'd swap Brennan and Teague around. Would like to see Cassidy or Jordan in the forward line in place of McGleenan to give us an extra bit of firepower and we also are missing an established right footed free taker there.

Forgot about Teague being injured as well. Good point regarding the right footed free kick taker.
Something like this wouldn't be bad.

Cant see jordan playing anywhere other than corner/full forward. PLaying in the half forward line just doesnt suit his style of play.

Most of the injured contingent did a decent workout in Pomeroy prior to the Down game. You'd have to imagine at least some of those will be available at the weekend and return to the 26.

Equally with the Bel-classico tomorrow night there will be a strong Tyrone influence. Hoping for no injuries.

Unfortunately we probably wont know who is available until Saturday afternoon.

[/quotCannot see Brennan being at fullback and don't think he can play county level any more. He does not have the strength and general-ship required. A new Horse Devlin required and a new Brian McGuigan someone who conducts the band and wastes no passes. See O'Rourke shifty and nervous after weak display against Monaghan makes me think again its just 1970s style management with a weak backroom and don't expect any AIs from his tenure no matter how many good young players come thru from  Devlin and Donnelly.

O'Hare would be a particularly disappointing one as there was big hope about him coming out of underage and won u-20 player of the year.

Hand of God

I see Conor Devlin has been named captain for the u20s this year and it was announced with him in the no 6 jersey.

So effectively that will be a corner back from the previous years team stepping up to the no 6 jersey and captaincy for the third year in a row following the footsteps of Rafferty and Clarke.

Maybe it's a good omen.

Or they chose a jersey at random from the bag?

Maybe but I think similar was done with both Clarke and Rafferty.

I don't suppose there is anywhere you could find the U20 panel?

Or the full senior panel for the national league?
