Kicking for points has been dreadful so far on our side, so many dropping short

thebigfullforward

Not a bad result when you look at the players both teams had out. Think 14 of them Armagh players that started had played county before. How many of our starting 15 played county before? 11 or 12 maybe?

Good run out. Mattie had a great game. MOTM for me.

Thought Niall Devlin was superb when introduced, won so many turnovers and really seems to have got up to the top level conditioning required so credit to him on that.

Oguz had a good game and did a lot of good things but still prone to erratic moments. Ben Cullen did very well also and I thought Ruairi Canavan performed well. McGarrity showed glimpses too.

Was it Cassidy who chipped ball up on the run through a load of bodies for the second goal? Couldn't make out who it was but felt it was a brilliant piece of skill for it.

As much as you can read into a McKenna cup match on the 2nd January, it was a decent win. Finished strongly. Agreed on above, Niall Devlin was very good when he came on - it looks like having a good year last year has given him huge confidence. Having the likes of Mattie and McCurry up front to close the game out was probably the difference.

Three debutants for Armagh Danny Magee, Dan McCarthy and fergal O' Brien.

Truthsayer

We Are Tyrone Facebook report (Ulster Herald) suggesting we may have seen the last of Peter Harte in a Tyrone jersey. Some career but he's done it all, nothing to prove and the years roll on.

Sad to see but can't expect these men to play forever either. Had some career and hopefully now we can find someone from the recent U20s to take their chance in the spot that opened up

Some thoughts

- thought all players did well enough
- conor Oneill looks to have the size to contribute
- breaking ball seemed to be something that has been worked on
- Ben Cullen and Cassidy got through tons of work and impressive
- lorcan Mcgarrity continuing to improve
- Conroy a big role in both goals
- Mattie Donnelly plenty to offer yet
- Niall Devlin playing with confidence

Aaron Boone

McGlennan solid when came on, lots of link-up play. A very sound performance all round.

Goals_Will_Come

Lot of size about the Tyrone team last night both from the start and off the bench. As has been said above a lot of work seems to have gone into breaking ball. Be great if we could get two but even if we got one of Cathal Donaghy, Oisin McCann, Joe Oguz, Matthew Og McGleenan, Conor O'Neill and Oisin Gormley to nail down a half forward position we would be in business.

Not convinced by our back up goalkeeper options if something happens to Morgan
The Clogher keeper must be worth a look

Is Benny Gallen still knocking about? Lorcan Quinn is a big loss.

Still another 6~8 U20s from last 3 years worth a look McHugh for strength for example. Nice to see Ruari Canavan occupying a Brian McGuigan plus sort of role effectively. Any win in Armagh any time good to build from. Question remains will Tyrone be in the All Ireland this year prov. Ulster final or promotion may be only ways in?
