Half forward line was a major issue against Armagh and them two would immediately improve it. Then you can have potential impact players like McElholm, O'Donnell, Ruairi, Oguz coming on as the tiredness creeps in. I think Hampsey has to come into the full back line probably at the expense of Devlin, and a fit Mark Bradley also has to start.
Morgan, Hamspey, Teague, Quinn, McKernan, Brennan, McGeary, Kennedy, Kilpatrick, Daly/Donaghy, Mattie, Peter Harte, McCurry, Bradley, D Canavan.

I'd probably start Devlin ahead of Bradley and rejig the team (Teague could possibly go out to half back line or Devlin). Going to need a lot of running power around the middle sector. The last day we struggled badly to win ball when played both Canavans and McCurry. Could see Clark coming back in for Quinn in the full back line.

Also by playing Devlin it would mean Mattie and Harte could share being one of the 3 up to save energy.

Hve heard myself Morgan playing outfield in training & games at the moment playing as NO.10 (3rd midfielder) along with Joe Oguz at 11. Which was the formation during their last friendly game. So i guess its a case of why not try something different with these round robin games esp against Ulster Champions. Tyrone have always been good when it comes to the surprise attack.

Playing a better ball winner in Bradley ahead of Ruairi would be the first step to fixing that, also with Harte and Mattie back in, ball going in should be better. You can always still have rotation with players moving in for a phase of play etc. Devlin has done well in a roving marking role but if Donegal play with Murphy Gallen and McBrearty again, no obvious match up for him - be better suited to Quinn or even Clarke.

Why would they playing Morgan out the pitch? Surely not right lol

Why not? Oisin OKane kicking to Brian K Conn K & Niall Morgan now that's a goalkeepers dream along with the way of the game with new rules enhancing the ball to be kicked long. Great idea and looking forward to it on Saturday evening.  Feel Ben McDonnell in around there as well could be the trick, hopefully hes not far away. Below is my predicted XV.

1 Okane
2 Devlin
3 Hampsey
4 Teague
5 Brennan
6 Mattie
7 McGeary
8 Conn
9 Brian
10 Morgan
11 Joe Oguz / Ben McD
12 Mckernain
13 Peter Harte
14 Darragh C
15 Darren McC

Lack of big men obvious Oguz dropped (given his timorous display v Armagh?) McDonnell may step in sometime.

Hope Meyler gets a half sub McGeary?

Hope Hampsey starts on Murphy (if Murphy plays? Fit?)

Would still give McElhom last 20 min if its tight.

And RC 30min move Harte further back.

Brennan and Morgan must conduct the orchestra! Better have a real kicking strategy, iron discipline and plenty of communication. (The maddening shambles there against Armagh was unforgiveable both on kickout and receive with only a McCurry masterclass making it a game).

Hope Patten missing too.

Would like to see Bradley get a run out. Likely be a few changes to starting 15 as usual with Hampsey being obvious one. Plenty of options on bench and will be v interesting to see how this one plays out

Edit this - I would go McDonnell over Daly and Donaghy at 10. Quinn or Clarke 50 50 much of a muchness with both.

HokeyPokey

Great to see Meyler back. The panel is looking strong. My concerns would be in the full back line and the wing forwards. Daly and Donaghy haven't done much that I can remember. What has happened to Cullen? He had done well from what I remember. If they want big men around there, I think O'Hare could be a decent shout?

If we get Hampsey and Meyler fit and in form, it would really strengthen us. I'd like to see Devlin play a bit more further forward at times, he showed good passing and composure for the U20s but have yet to see him do so for the seniors.

reddgnhand

The pace is leaving MD behind and Daly ??

Aaron Boone

Ciaran Daly definitely forgot his shooting boots.

thebigfullforward

McGeary having some game again. Canavan just doesn't look like the new rules suit him which is a shame cause they were meant to make players like him stand out
