This is the 'tactical fouling' video the FRC used at Congress.
Would anyone seriously suggest that cracking down on this stuff somehow makes the game less manly?

Ye must be devastated Jinx that there's no Tyrone fouls in there at all. It's as well Meath don't play many games each year or they'd have a few in there too.

You can't drag someone down if you can't catch them!

The Tyrone Version of the Tactical Foul will be out next week, it is entitled:

'Tactical Fouling 2: Gormley's Revenge'.

2 Hours long which includes extras such as

- The Tyrone supporters' reasons to act the p***k with coverage of the Lacey spit, Derrytresk on tour and a secret inside look at what really goes on on the Carrickmore terracing

- An interview with Peter Canavan on how the diving and fouling all came about

-  Mickey Harte explains why he must have a view on everything that is going on in Ireland. A sneak preview tells us what he really thinks about Pope Francis.

- Rate your best 'fouler' on the Tyrone squad

- Why are Tyrone the most hated county in Ireland? We interview Tyrone Clubmen who argue the case.

Jinxy

I don't want this to turn into another Tyrone-bashing thread.

Two of the "body collision" clips in that video were little more than pushes, I guarantee you a ref won't send off Michael Murphy/Aidan O'Shea/some other big name in an All Ireland final for something as soft as that.

If he did then he'd be crucified by the self-same "meeja" and hacks who now propose this new system.

The body collision should't be included IMO and it will lead to some ridiculous decisions if refs are not totally clued in. The rest of the fouls badly need to be removed from the game as much as possible.

Jinxy

The body check shouldn't be too problematic to police.
It's very obvious when it's done deliberately.
That said, I'm sure some teams will try and engineer black cards for the opposition by running into defenders, diving etc.

Indeed. I can see it now.

First black card in a big game (whether justified or not) the crowd will go bananas, probably wound up by an apoplectic manager on the sideline. Then in an effort to even things up the ref sends off a marquee player for a mistimed but harmless challenge. Then the other supporters management go nuts.

Then Brolly and co whinge about the state of football/refereeing and the whole thing starts all over again.

Only the Armagh and Kildare challenges were worth more than a yellow. Some of the others not even meriting a yellow. And none are actually examples of the systematic fouling by forwards like Murphy, McFadden, Conor Laverty, Tyrone or Mayo that this new card is supposed to eradicate.

There were plenty of examples, you don't have to a forward to warrant a black card.
